Unable to create Cantr II account

Postby Hypericus » Sat Dec 12, 2009 10:02 pm

Hi. I'd persuaded my son to play Cantr II but he can't create an account. Going through the standard new user screen, and clicking on "Register" gives a message saying that an account already exists. Is this because we use the same ADSL adapter, and what can we do to get round this problem ?

If you're registering using an email address that already belongs to an active account, you'll be rejected. Is that the case here?

Make sure you explain the situation in the comments when you finally are able to register.

Sadly not. That would be far too easy to fix! He's on his own PC, in his own room, it's not till we get to past the WiFi link that we're sharing anything.

That's still close enough for automatic rejection, I think. Send a message to PD explaining things. You'll have to keep your chars entirely separate and not co-operate with each other, as if it were all one account, but Cantr's a big enough place for this not to cause problems.

Edit: It seems my interpretation of your dilemma was wrong. Tiddy was right - the application was rejected because there was no accompanying explanation as to why there was a shared IP. Resend the application with an explanation. Have your son list your account number as a reference.

Tiddy is also right that since your two accounts are coming from the same location, you'll need to treat them as if they are both played one player, i.e. you can't have your characters cooperate - they need to live separate lives with separate goals.
