Tying People Up and Torture

Postby Xander » Mon Mar 08, 2004 4:49 pm

Chains and rope to tie people up with (in prisons and stuff)

Or torture machines to get info out of a prisoner. Or a cage that you could store people in for travelling between towns or just as a cage in the town or building

Edited for thread title. -rklenseth

Well about about a kind of way to get boats back or trap boats?......like this i guess......you have to have a coaster harbour or/and a lighthouse......once you have those you can now make a kind of big harpoon gun and the harpoon are made separately and its made of lets say iron steel and wood......once it has been used, in can be reused......so, you have to made rope so you have that big rope machine and you need 5 healthy people to set the gun(like dragging a body, if you don't have this amount of people then it will never get done cuz your not strong enough, this working instantly like dragging), then 1 to put the harpoon in and 1 to fire the weapon(this still instantly work not using any turns), it like a project now, and you used the set of pulley and hoist to bring them back......and now you need lets say XX amount of people to pull the boat back depending on weight, you have a min. amount of people, and if you don't have this many people after 2 turns the boat can sail away cuzz your not strong enough to pull it back.....lets say you have the boat and now you have to make some repairs on the boat because of this.....even if you get away you have to make repairs, but if the boat gets away then you can't reuse the harpoon or rope cuz you nolonger have it.

I cut and pasted in some parts so if it sounds weird......i don't wanna check but i hope you get the idea.
I was not intoxicated while I wrote this.

Grappling hooks have been suggested before. Not a bad idea, but I think ship-to-ship docking with both participants willing should be implemented first.

How about the Romans Vs. the Veneti?
The Veneti were excellent sailors but they kinda sucked in combat. They'd raid, and then sail off and excape from the Romans. The Romans eventually used in essence knives on sticks to shred the sails and then (here's the relevant part) hooked onto the enemy ships and boarded, where they cut the Veneti foe to chunks. There, I put an argument for boarding on there too. I rule.

A principal thing, nothing serious, though.

If you want to increase the likelyhood of someone important reading your thread, you should consider to name it in an appropriate way.

"How about the following?" is not appropriate.

"Chains and ropes" is.

It's entirely your decision, though, depending on what you intend with posting a suggestion.

On a side note, just like in General Support, threads in Suggestions with a lot of 'chatting' in them, have a lower likelyhood to even catch attention of anyone in charge.

lol sounds a bit hard though your comments thomas

But I agree with thomas, I thought this subject was about following people.
But the title doens't really matter that much, it's the content that counts.

And why would you think you could get information about people by tortering them? Unless the player itself would feel any pain during the process, I doubt the character will give any information. And for torture, just lock them up for years instead of killing them. That would work better I think. Both the player as his character would have the time to calm down
