Yep, good ol' Xiria. You'll see it mentioned in the forums in a few older threads if you look hard enough...

The Xiria region has played a part in the developement of Lad in recent years, mostly because of the people killed there.

Excellent. My Imperial Guard deserter character may end up on that list. Then again, he may extend it.

Xiria has always seemed to be the hot bed of resistance against the Alexian Empire since Emperor Alexi Romanov died whether real or imaged.

Sester Gartaf smoked out the so called Naron Rebels

And then there was the Black Wolf of Xiria that attacked Naron way back and started the years of chaos in the Empire up until Sester's return and the rise of Senacca Hawethorne to the throne.

Now it will be a miracle if the Empire survives what is to come and to think they thought the threats were in Xiria, Miron, Alenz Hills but they never thought Brinks or DoUrden for that matter was a threat.

I am wondering how the Empire found out about DoUrden's ambush on Captain Midgey and his soldiers? I didn't think DoUrden left any survivors?

They didn't "find out" about Randolph, Hawthorne just took a bet on it based on the info he had, which was that Randolph disappeared while on a trip to that region and from the evidence he gathered when he first recaptured #5 which was lost again with Randolph. And Hawthorne considered Brinks a threat, but not the the degree that he should have. He was more interested in Piers Anthony and Cantr City.

Captain Midgey was promoted to 2nd in command of the Imperial Guard under Commander Rocks because the Commander didn't want to deal with registerring 10 newspawns as new citizens everyday. At the time of this ambush, the Empire was in crisis... Sester was gone, Commander Rock went into the prison for a long period of time and left Midgey in charge of the guard, and there were rumors the Vizer and Advisors were covering up the fact the Emperor was dead. The Emperor had not been seen in years.

Midgey heard rumors that Sester was claiming to be the Emperor and took a group of soldiers out to hunt him down. The people in the city never heard what exactly happened to Midgey. Maybe the People in Power know somehow, but its not common knowledge.

Sester left Xiria long before Midgey got there but just in time for DoUrden to arrive. DoUrden had heard from Cantr City that some soldiers from another place were harrassing people that were trying to gather rubber. DoUrden needed rubber so the orders were to gather rubber and if they ran into some soldiers to kill them first and worry about who they were and what they were doing later.

DoUrden actually happened upon transport #5 by accident and since it seemed to be abandoned, they took it. Then they broke into the Empire's outposts and tooks loads of resources, tools, weapons, etc... from what the Empire had left behind in after abandoning them.

Yes. He mysteriously disappeared from the Empire for awhile but returned in time enough for Sester to put him in charge of the guard in Ladvicitavoi before beginning plans for the invasion.

Surprisingly, the Empire has received several "immigrants", mostly from Cantr City.

Captain Midgey was ambushed and killed long ago in Xiria by DoUrden Estates.

He's also more fashionable. Last time I saw him he was ordering longcoats for the Guard.
