Landmark Placement

Postby Armulus Satchula » Thu Jul 23, 2009 2:17 pm

Maybe its just me, but I think something called a landmark is silly to have at the bottom of the page. A landmark is a landmark because it stands out. My Suggestion is to move it to the top or move it out of the objects screen to a place where landmarks actually stand out.

You can't even interact with it, so maybe use the same hover over tool tip like hovering over a person who has a description typed of them.

I wouldn't mind seeing them moved to the top of the objects page either. It would be more noticable then having to scroll through 100 notes and 15 different types of animal products and then 20 machines before seeing them.

Yeah. I always start reading these lists from the bottom up, so that way they can be ignored completely - cos most of them are pretty pointless.

I think this deserves some more discussion.

I'm unsure, it seems most landmarks are relatively pointless, though Arm makes a good point that it would be something that would stand out. If we had the ability to modify/destroy them, I'd be in 100% support. As it stands though, I'm still pretty close to that.

This would be great in places with few landmarks, but there are some areas that have 10+ tombstones.
With just a few, it's a convenience, with more than a few it's a major hassle. Just like with notes, but notes can be cleaned up relatively quickly.

Once landmarks can be destroyed and built indoors, I think this will be a great idea.

We could make the objects list collapsible: (+) Stone landmark (10)

Doesn't that go right back to making them less noticeable, Doug? ;P

I agree. It's no longer a landmark. I could see a gravestone being added as an item though.
