<deleted for the moment, reason: too flame-risky and all that>

Sorry, but I don't like this thread. Even though it's meant to be nice and improve RP, it targets specific characters in sort of a negative way, which is the main reason I don't like it. Other reasons include: 'good' RP and 'bad' RP are usually subjective; sometimes people would rather not be given advice on how to play a game when they never asked for it; this could easily lead to a character mob bash.

Maybe, instead, go the positive route. Provide examples of 'model' RP'ers and illustrate with non-CRB examples.

If there's any characters you would like to give some RP tips, you can do it here and hope the player reads it. I was thinking it could be done in bad RP, but it doesn't really have to be bad RP, just RP that could've been better if... ;)

I've got two for now.

Ok, now this is a bit ridiculous and quite frankly irritating. Pointing out other people's "mistakes" in your opinion when you likely have your own as well while making yourself out to be the perfect rp'er. Quite a few are getting tired of hearing over and over I'm the good rp'er and you're the bad one. What qualifies you to point out how people should and shouldn't rp. Everyone is different, everyone does things their own way. This is a bad idea and will only turn into flaming at some point or people ganging up on a certain player because maybe they're too young or have the inability to spell correctly or have the schooling to learn punctuation. This is a ridiculous thread and completely inappropriate in my eyes. You want to give rp tips " Tip 1: Use capitalization and punctuation when rp'ing" for example works just as well and does not embarrass and upset another player by specifically pointing out their faults

Hmm, alright, true. But at least something positive happens here, instead of like in the bad RP topic.

Perhaps RP is not the right word, but more like general tips. I suppose that if no one really likes it because of the high potentional of flaming, I'll remove the names and lock it up.

Also in no way do I imply that I'm a great RPer, those are your words, Rconley.

edit: edited first post.

No, you come in here complaining about how everyone else is rp'ing wrong or incorrectly or not rp'ing the correct way you think they should again and again. And for the record, I do believe you are an excellent roleplayer and have nothing personal against you.

The rp tips is a good idea. Pointing out players "mistakes" or "faults" in your opinion is not. It will lead to flaming or embarrassing another player and is completely unneccessary and inappropriate.

True. I've deleted the first post now, could you edit the quote in your post? I didn't really think about what others would think when reading it. Even though the intention is meant to be good, it can and will be taken the wrong way. I like the idea of setting good examples.

Edited names out just now. And thank you. Sorry for being so harsh Wiro, this one just rubbed me the wrong way. Apologies if I have hurt any feelings, it was not my intention.

I know you didn't mean to insult me or hurt my feelings, besides, I'm not easily offended. :P So it's okay. I'll lock this topic now and consider the good examples thing.

Generally good ideas rise up out the ashes of bad ideas with good intentions.
- Every person lost in war is two too many.
- Respect comes from two sides and must be earned. Nobody has the right to it because of a title, sex, age, race or birth.
- What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
- I believe in True Love, do you?
