I did that to sort out the topics from general support I can do something about and those I cannot.
When someone logs on that can handle it, it will be underway again.
So, continue the discussion on how much it sucks but no more data is required to fix just someone who is setup to fix.

To answer a slightly different question....
Why is there more down time and slowness?
There are more players and characters than ever before. Things have to be omptimized for speed now to keep things going. When things slow what down it causes problems in merely storing the state of some things.
Also with more people, each new person brings a new way of using the system. Read that as "things that may have been tested to the way you do them"
Also with more characters the characters are doing more interesting things. Read that as "your the first one to build xyz or use, thank you for testing it"
My suspicion is that the turns were thrown offline by sailing which has always had it's share of issues. But it is a very interesting part of the game so it cannot be turned off. This was my interest in boats today. We had a sailing bike and a boat sailing twice.
The system does not come up right away becuase I have not figured out how to connect to that area where I could start things again. The people who can are occipied. And to tell the truth I spend much more time than I should here but much less time than I would like too. For $5,000,000 USD I will quit my job and give a good 40 hour a week effort for the rest of my life. O still have a family I like to spend time with. Ohh. I'm late again. bye..
