Separating Characters (Help!)
Okay, so I have a brand new character, only she spawned in the same spot as another one of my characters! (if there's not a system in place to prevent this occuring, there should be. But there may be, since my older char. was on a short trip at the time of my new char's spawning)
Anyway, my question is, how do I get my new character out of there without making something really absurd up, or coming flat out in an ooc message and saying "I'll be leaving now because this is my second character here". I'm curious as to how other people have dealt with this. Someone else has to have had this same problem.
I really want to separate them, because it's very distracting, having both of them living in the same area.
Any help will be really great, even just stories as to how you coped with this, or how you would if it were you. Thanks!

I've had this problem before, but none of my characters settled at their start points. If you aren't set on a personality for the new character yet, they could go looking for an environment that suits them better. Even if they don't know what that would be.
Also, two in one place isn't so bad, although you have to be careful not to mix up who you are speaking from.

Don't worry about. Just play your characters. I have many characters in the same place. Sometimes, I have 4 characters who frequent Quillanoi (one that lives there, one imprisoned, one that use to live there but left, and another stationed there by Siom).
If you are afraid of breaking the rule about having so many character around one areas, don't worry about it. As long as your characters are played by their personalities and you aren't using them so they all get ahead in Cantr together then you shouldn't have a problem with the Players Department (that and you are a member of the Players Deparment anyhow).
And I think the rule does the opposite effect in this case. It is forcing your characters to possibly go against their personalities by leaving or even avoiding areas.
The way I see it play your characters and let them take you places not you take them places

That was what I was thinking! My character is already semi-established in this place, so it would be going against her nature to just yank her out of there. Wouldn't that be against the intended spirit of the CR?

Probably. As I see it, it's all right to violate the letter of the Capital Rule (by having multiple characters in one place) as long as correcting the situation (having a character leave for no reason) would violate the spirit of the Rule in a significant way. Of course, if it's possible to get one character away in a reasonable way, you should do so. I had a similar problem in Lad, and I got one of my characters to join the Imperial Guard.

Well if its a new spawn, obviously it is easy to leave with out a word, no need for excuses. If the char has been established just say you wanna go exploring or something, and there are many lands out there worth the time, well sometimes. Also, if a person of another town impresses you of their town, why not pay that a permanent visit? All my characters except one or two travell quite often.

Sometimes I think the devs are testing me to use chars to my advantage the way that they place them one after another in ajoining regions or next to eachother...
One rule I have is for the most part... they Rarely interact and they definitely DO NOT trade with eachother. I usually exchange names, cause all my chars are open about that, but that is about all they say to eachother. they defiintely don't settle in the same region, but if both are spawned in an iron region or some other obvious reason for instance, they stay in that place a bit longer together because obviously both want iron, but DO NOT help eachother, and do not communicate except for name exchange.
That's how I deal with it, anyway.

Heh, my characters communicate.
At one point all my characters in Quillanoi were communicating.
There was Easle Quathak, who was President at that time.
Awaq Hera, who was a messenger for the Quillanoi Government (hired by Jonathan Russell before Easle was elected and if you know Awaq's history then you know that he loves to travel and dreams of creating some sort of mail system)
Richard Lenseth, who is the Siom Sheriff Deputy Commander of the Quillanoi Offices assigned to that post during the whole Richard Cromwell things by Sheriff Steve Kardos.
And Robert, who was a criminal mastermind who calls himself the 'King of Bandits'.

You are a little further above reproach than me though, I'm a lowly bare bones member
, you have a bit more credibility due to your position and public inolvement, which makes sense.
I just will play it safe.
One time I had two chars that worked for the same people and argued with eachother and actually tried to hinder eachothers actions awhile back, but I didn't like the idea of it after awhile, cause it seemed too close to call it terms of CR, so I stopped it very soon after it started. But they were spawned in the same place, lol.
