I've been monitoring a radio for a while now with one of my charries, and I've kept wondering that how many of the messages are sent under a false name.. It isn't so hard.
Then I thought that I should be able to distinguish the male voice from the female voice, at least in most cases: there are some females with rather rough sounds leaving their mouth and some men with extrmely soft voice, easily mixed up with the female voice.
But the main point of this post is that I would like to see something like:
"2999-3.17: You hear a female voice from radio Radio (receiver): blah blah blah"

It would be nice to have even more detail in that matter. Like having a number (or the like) that identifies the kind of voice (but not only the sex, but some extra traits), so each character will have a kind of voice.
But it adds little colour to the game, and some extra complexity.
If the aim is to make harder to impersonate anyone else in the radio, it will have little effect, and thus it will receive little interest in game.
Except for making possible to read things like this:
"2999-3.17: You hear a male voice from radio Radio (receiver): Hello, Lady Jenny McGregor on the line. We are one sale, let's go, come here, we will receive you with a smile in the face and flowers in the hand"

I would like people to have different voice heights that would be stored as a number but rounded into a few adjectives like very high, high, somewhat high, mid-toned, somewhat deep, deep and very deep. Or soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, tenor, baritone, bass, although those are gender-related. Then having the sneezing sickness (or smoking a pipe) could temporarily lower your voice. But if something like this was implemented then people should be given a chance to pick the voice height for their characters because it would be very unfair if a girl imagined to be dainty got a very deep voice, or a burly guy got a very high voice. It's bad enough that people got blessed with physical strength (at least it doesn't show) that could contradict previous rp.

Haha I have wondered what would happen if one of my charries were to make weird or threatening posts but its not in their personality. I think unless someone has a distinct voice or impediment it may be easy to confuse them with other people...and even if you could lable their voice who's to say they couldn't mask it.
.You hear from the radio *In a Sean Connery voice* I'm going to kill you all!!!
i like the idea of being able to discern who is talking but i dont see a way to do it......

A voice lends personality to a character and as such, should be dictated by the player of the character. What about the characters with no voice? The ones that are role played totally, or almost totally by emoting? As it currently stands, even a mute character could use a radio:
You hear from radio Radio (receiver):
**tap, tap, tap…..bang, bang, bang….tap, tap, tap**
Besides, even if you heard a message from a radio receiver that you could identify as female, that still doesn't mean that the message itself would be authentic. It just means that a character who wants to send a misleading message would have to change his/her tactics.
