Ideas for sand
Well my Corn and wheat Thread was moved which makes me very very happy so now i'm going to see what i can dig up for sand, while i wait to see exactly what was accepted from the Corn and wheat thread before i make more suggestions in that area.
quartz could be gathered as a new resource cystals or simply gathered right outa the sand with a process.
Qaurtz can be used in acpothery for beakers and stuff it's called fused quartz and can replace glass in quality.
Since electrical conductivity in fused quartz is ionic in nature, and alkali ions exist only as trace constituents, fused quartz is the preferred glass for electrical insulation and low loss dielectric properties.
Vitreous silica is the generic term used to describe all types of silica glass with producers referring to the material as either fused quartz or as fused silica. Originally, these terms were used to distinguish between transparent and opaque grades of the material. Fused quartz products were those produced from quartz crystal to make transparent ware, and fused silica described products manufactured from sand into opaque ware.
Today, however, advances in raw material beneficiation permit transparent fusions from sand as well as from crystal. Consequently if naturally occurring crystalline silica (sand or rock) is melted, the material is simply called fused quartz. When silicon dioxide is synthetically derived, however, the material is referred to as synthetic fused silica.
Controlled Process
The performance of most fused quartz products is closely related to the purity of the material. Momentive 's proprietary raw material beneficiation and fusion processes are closely monitored and controlled to yield typically less than 50 ppm total elemental impurities by weight. Momentive clear fused quartz varieties have a nominal purity of 99.995 W% SiO2. The Table below summarizes the typical trace level impurity content of Momentive fused quartz products.
Structural hydroxyl (OH)- impurities are also shown. The strong IR absorption of (OH)- species in fused quartz provides a quantitative method for analysis.

re
It is used in water filtration
Grout &cement
A washed and dried sand with irregular shaped
aggregates.
USES
For filling joints between interlocking stone and
brick. Fills voids easily. The irregular shapes of
the aggregates provide better stability than silica
sand and resist “wash-out”.
Pour onto surface as required and sweep over
joints. Sweep off excess.
Glass containers ie jars, wine bottles, beer bottles etc
As a proponent to increase the permeability or oil and gas bearing rock formations
I'm trying to find more uses for sand so gimmi some time this is a hard one and probley had a few cracks at it already..

Also, your post is much better and easier to read than your other suggestion. I actually read this one.
It's more sand i'm tryna brainstorm for thats all qaurtz is either crystals or smaller ones found in sand

re
hopefully process will be fixed up or i may even find some new uses maybe not maybe i'll just give up this is a really tough one to crack just tryna give myself a challenge here.

Alright... promissing things I'm noticing here... glass containers... we've already got glass coming from sand plus soda and fuel, so that part's already there.
Maybe add "blown glass" as a new resource for glass containers... glass bars go in with fuel, blown glass comes out. New items use blown glass as raw input. Grinder for finer glassware.

yes i agree jars would be way to cool for sauces and stuff open new meals
to the game and other things but me hung over urgh i don't drink havn't for a year or two now , but every once and awhile i feel the urge to socialize with my friends so i went out sos heres my idea sand could be used to bury dead and drunken bodys like mine ohhh i drank 7 beers and went straight home to bed me make better suggestion later owch my tummy.
All sorts of grinders should require some sand
more on sand casting and opening the realm of possibilitys like molding anything you want

Buddy, fix that damn link in post above last.
You are killing me here.
It is a bitch scrolling left/right to read. Makes the lines too long.
And for everyone.
I wish people would understand shorter lines are easier to read than longer lines.
Ever go on a site that has text from the
left side of the screen all the way over to the right?
10 to 20 words should be the maximum line/sentence length.
To the topic.
More uses for sand. That could be usefull. Maybe.
