The down for 20 minutes web page is fine and dandy but does not link to the forum or IRC. I only use the links to here from the cantr page, so perhaps the maintenance page should also have URLs to here and chat.

Might drum up new folk too.

IRC is okay to link, Tattered, but the forums do actually have data that requires backing up as well. They need to ensure no one is using the forums when they back them up otherwise many people will wonder where their posts have gone, some posts may even be quite large.

When the game is down, chances are the forum is as well.

Didn't someone raise the idea of putting the forum on another sergver once before? That would be quite a good idea, in my opinion...

N-Aldwitch, you're too late ... I already booked a Dreamhost account this weekend ;) ... So yes, the forum is going to be moved. But give us some time.

Also, the game is backed up before the forum so they are not simultaneously offline. They used to be, but not anymore. If there are other reasons for the site to be offline, this argument doesn't hold, obviously.
