Build menu help

Postby tiddy ogg » Sun Jan 07, 2007 10:15 am

I don't know what you've done but I can't do anything with it now.
Links won't work using the <enter> key, Can't link to "Old html menu".
When, somehow I did get off that first page there was a lot of messages saying "Java script" and I still could get no further into the various categories.

It was changed last night - and obviously doesn't work well for text reading browsers .

The new features require javascript so if you turn off scripting you will have access to the old build menus which should work normally - obviously that's only a temprorary fix and I've alerted the developer who is implementing this change .

We'll keep you informed

What we will probably do is allow you to choose between the two menu types - but that won't be immediate

Thanks. It seems Merrill is working on it. I can get a bit further now, but it hangs trying to select the category, saying "Java script... " when trying to use the old menu.
How do I disable Java in IE6?

(There's no panic overthis, I don't need to build anything for a few days.)

You can turn it off in IE6 by selecting Tools>Internet Options
Then select the Security Tab and click on Custom Level button

Near the end of the settings is the "Scripting" options - If you turn the Active Scripting setting to Disable then Javascript (and vbScript) is disabled

To turn it on again you do exactly the same but select "Enable" :)

This will work (but is not ideal as it turns off scripting for all Internet Sites ) - I'd only do this is if you need to build something in the next day or so . Marol will probably implement a permanent solution in the near future which won't require this.

Thanks for your patience

OK Chris. That was already checked, but there was another box to disable Java, and now it's workable, if not quite as clean as before.
Thanks.

Marol's post below should solve this issue as it allows you to turn off the Javascript menus and use the old style ones

marol wrote:You can now disable JavaScript extensions (bew build menu) on player options page. You can also choose between progress bars style as well. And please don't complain more on that subject. ;)

Have you changed / improved this as I can't get it to function for me? No search window either. I have just changed security settings on copmuter, so is it me?
