That would create some market... but it would be awful if something expensive fell apart. They shouldn't deteriorate in storage at all, and in ordinary usage, very little. But being attacked (at least with sharp objects) should cause rapid deterioration. Repair should be possible but there should be some limits to that. Maybe only an expert could make it look brand new.

I don´t think so. Many people don´t bother making or buying clothes as it is now, why would they suddenly start spending time on something with no practical use when it will fall apart anyway soon? And, seriously - don´t we have enough repairs already? Please, no more things that can fall apart! We have enough naked people in Cantr.

I like the idea of clothes' deterioration a lot. An excellent idea!
If tools or weapons have a certain amount of deterioration, I don't find why clothes -useful or not- don't deteriorate at all. It's a kind of a bug in the game balance.

No!! Clothes are difficult enough to get without wasting time when you could get something VALUABLE for your time, such as a better weapon, a home, a boat, a better shield, etcetera.
It would be so very irritating, taking clothes off, putting on repair, repairing, repairing, repairing, repairing, putting on, taking next one off, repairing..
Improve, don't incline, the already steep learning curve.

¡Oh damn, yeah, we need some tool to improve that!

Ok, if clothes deteriation is implemented I shall never wear clothes full stop, and right now I only ever wear clothes that are given to me for free. I have only ever made clothes once, because they are pointless. So basically, you implement this, and clothes shall become even more pointless

If only there were graphics... *sigh* I rarely bother to read the clothing descriptions, although if there's something unusual then I might take a second look.
Did you know by the way, that people were using jewelry far before they invented clothing? So the primary function is not protection, it's about being imposing. And there's also magical purposes (you wear a necklace made of bear claws - you get the bear's strength).

I don't think graphics would make much, if any, difference... and I think clothes would have to be made much cheaper to compensate for deterioration.
However, thats not to say I wouldn't like to see deterioration of clothes... just those clothes would have to be much, much, much cheaper. And I'm talking those cotton trousers taking a day to make.
Or maybe... just the clothes never fall apart? They just reach the old, tatty stage and you can buy more.
Still should make them cheaper though, before any kind of deterioration.
