Move the X!

Postby Marian » Thu Aug 03, 2006 4:10 am

I was going to log out, and I accidentally clicked the green X. I noticed of course and then I quickly clicked the right button before it loaded, but when I went to log back in I got an 'invalid ID' message. I nearly had a heart attack. I'm not kidding, my heart jumped and I nearly had a heart attack and died right then and there.

I tried again and everything was fine, I probably just mistyped it, but that was just too scary. Please, please, please move that X down to the very bottom of the screen.

You have to enter your password in the unsubscription page; just clicking the X won't do anything. You have to be pretty . . . slow, or very unfortunate to accidently unsubscribe yourself.

It should still be moved. I panic everytime I accidentally hit it, and I know what's on the other side of it. Just a page asking for confirmation and password, but still, it's in an inconvenient spot.

Yea. You should put it at the very bottom, and make it bright red so people COMPLEATLY avoid it.

You could make it so that it moves out of the way of the cursor. That way you can only click on it if you really really try. :D

DELETE the X button, I say. People like Phalynx should write a founded request for deletion, which then would be reviewed by the PD and considered properly, instead of giving drunken pissed people a chance to throw weeks/months/years of character development down the drain in the spur of a moment.

Not many people delete their accounts, do they?

If they're leaving, they're leaving for good right? Why would they bother doing people the curtosy of deleting their account? They can just ask the PD. :P
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Leaving for good? ... *falls down laughing* That's a good joke, indeed. No, brother, they tend to come back, at least once or twice. That's the sucky part. Since they're always whining how good their old characters were and that new ones can't replace. If you want your characters to die, you can leave them hanging and starving. No one's forcing you to log in. If you want a quick death, you should consider it for each character separately, and a second opion wouldn't be bad either.

Haven't seen me talking about my old characters, have you?

And although it'll take a while, I have every intention of surpassing my former chars.

*is guilty of missing his characters*

I agree with Seko, remove the big fat X altogether. If people don't want to write an email to delete accounts, they can just let their charries starve. Its much more realistic than fifteen people suddenly having heart attacks.

Oh yea, I miss them alright, that's what brought me back, but I don't talk about them much.

I kind of like this idea..I have seen a few people do this the past few months and they have regretted it.

If you're gonna remove the X, and make us email PD...then don't make us give reasons to delete the account. If we want the account deleted, it's gotta be a good enough reason for us, and it shouldn't matter why.
Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back.
