There's something to be said about dictatorships. I look at the Blackrocks in the game, how these people flock to Naedell precisely because they want to submit to the simplicity of being told what to do. If you upset the dictator, you die. Or disappear. It's a simplicity of life. Fear keeps things orderly.

Look at the dictatorships in human history... The countries they led usually flourished.

That, and democracies take a painstaking amount of time getting anything done in cantr, because the game is not real-time so it may take an entire day just to hear someone's counter-argument to your point.

I think democracies will only flourish in cantr once someone figures out how to administrate them in a way that works with the mechanics of the game.

Not to mention the mere presence of such groups makes the game interesting by generating the kind of slow-moving dramas that can make the game feel like more than just another of the thousands of RP chat rooms on the internet (but with chars that can die). I've been thinking about that fact as I watch the prevalence of swimming RP and such - we have to make sure we always offer more than just that, because that is something easily had elsewhere.

Today is demolition day here at the apartments. (They're destroying our balconies so they can put up new ones.)

So. Effing. Loud. And here I had naively thought I'd go back to sleep after the morning check they made on our doors and windows! I don't think I'll even survive being awake in this insanity, time to go take a shower and run away somewhere until 3 pm.

I sprained my thumb a week ago, and it's seriously interfering with my life. Grr.

I have no idea why I wanted to post on page 666...but I think I just wanted to help us move past it.

My stepbrother is apparently out of jail and remembers who I am, so there will now probably be some more awkward, abortive attempts at communication. Here's to hoping he gives up more quickly than our shared half-sister.

Way more exciting is the fact that I'm baking five dozen cookies for my mother today. I feel very restless/flamboyant, so I'm hoping my flail-y tendencies won't lead to any disasters.

Curses.

*grumblegrumble*

I just had to post on page 666 as well (though I seem to always start new pages, so perhaps I'll be posting on 667).
