Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
My brother had MRSA for a while. I remember it was a pain to get rid of but they did test me for that type of staph. It wasn't the MRSA and I made sure to ask him specifically what type, He said MSSA, and specified it wasn't MRSA. It's still a nasty infection but apparently the difference is that the antibiotics they have WILL supposedly help with the MSSA but not with the MRSA. He said it's the more common one and easier to kill but it certainly hasn't seemed like it.

Good luck Mitch!! I know you can use google too but please don't underestimate the infection. http://hubpages.com/hub/MSSA-Infection , http://www.articlebliss.com/Art/473030/ ... cted.html.. MSSA and MRSA are both scarey. I work in the medical field, we use very strong precautions over both of these, though the hospital tends to label them all MRSA, since it is the better known label, and basically the same infection.

Riding out another tornado watch in the bathroom. I cracked open a bottle of wine that was appropriately named "Spring Fling" for the occasion. Oh well, last week without any storms was nice. Back to reality.

Cork pads? Sounds like something you'd want a podiatrist to take a look at.

I knew it. I knew it! Somebody, probably gejyspa, was going to come along and make a pun out of that. And here he is! xDDD

Truly I haven't the foggiest inkling of an idea what in the world they would be, and I can't be bothered to look it up, despite the fact that looking it up would be about one third of the effort I've already expended in writing this response to your response to my response.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
On a clarinet, each key that is not an open hole has a metal plate, called a pad cup, and in the pad cup is a pad which seals the hole, allowing different pitches to come out (open holes are sealed by the fingers of the player). These pads can be made of several different materials, including certain types of cloth, leather, fish skin, and cork. As far as I've heard, cork pads on the upper joint seal perfectly, have no vibrating skins (to eliminate that bright, disgusting sound), improve the general sound quality, don't stick, and last forever. My private instructor has told me I should get them for my clarinet. But I'm not just taking his word for it: I played on a clarinet that did have cork pads and compared it to the one I have now, which has skin. And the cork pads made such a huge difference in playability.
I've seen mostly good reports on cork pads here: http://test.woodwind.org/oboe/BBoard/re ... 0&t=211380
Other sites have mixed reviews.
But from my personal experience, I prefer the cork over the skin. I might have leather ones installed in the bottom joint later on though.

Apparently...I like making my life difficult.
We have a combo of 4 kids all under 10 years old. I work full time, hubby is a full time student. So...we live pretty hectic lives, right? Yes. So what do you think would be the best thing for us to do? Haha, not adopt two 4 month old puppies from the animal shelter! Who would be crazy enough to do THAT?! hahahaha....i'm losing my mind. Who's coming to watch?

I'm running a fever of 39 C so I most likely won't be playing until I get better.

SekoETC, feel better.
Chesierekat-- Yeah, I know THAT one. We have five kids (not at the moment as young as yours, but we did have five under age 11) and two huge dogs. We have had, at various times, another dog, a parakeet, a dwarf hamster, 3 mice, and innumerable fish. No cats, though, since some of the kids are allergic.
Must admit, we never had puppies that young, though.
Good luck to ya.

Feel better soon Seko!
And thanks for the luck Gejyspa. We are going to need it. As we speak the little puppies are getting fixed, and will come home later today. I am so excited!
