No RL Language area? Make up our own?

N-Aldwitch, Okud's point was that if people are generally unwilling to learn a language such as Esperanto which has many online courses, groups, chatrooms, etc and is useful in the real world, why would they bother with a completely new Cantr-language which would only ever be used within the game between perhaps a thousand players (if that)?

Having said that, I think the best way to do this idea (if I understand it correctly) would be with a completely new interface based around character's gestures. Probably completely seperate from Cantr. If a character 'looks angry', for example, everyone around him should understand what that means even without an associated word. This action, imo, should not be in any existing language, for a number of reasons:
- Not all the players would understand it
- It would distract from the new language

Rather, the display of these actions and 'emotes' should, imo, be as icons or emoticons. Notice how you think in English with this:
8888-8: You see a man in his twenties say "Pa jhonga bungu *he looks happily at the smoked meat*"

Compare that to something like:
8888-8: Image "Pa jhonga bungu" :D :arrow: Image

Of course you'd have to understand the concepts behind the emoticons. In this case :arrow: means 'looks at' and Image is smoked meat. Perhaps when the character learns the word, this can be changed by the player. The idea of this is that if the character (and by extension the player) doesn't know the word, there shouldn't be a word there unless a character says it. And there should be no English or any other real language do confuse things.

That's what I think. :)
