I have met both Stone Knight Marcus Nols (Was quite shaken by his death since she had JUST talked to him) and Master Guardian Drake Kras (who shall promote me now? You do not -know- how much you are missed by all at this time!)

I am truly sorry to see you go, Arenti. Trust me, I understand. I've been there, taken a number of breaks and I've always come creeping back. I hope you find what you are looking for and enjoy your little break from our world and hurry back!
<hEarty> I know that I am claustrophobic
<pie> did you live in a small house with a large family?
<pie> that would make me claustrophobic.
<hEarty> no
<pie>(oh my gosh, I did live in a small house... I'M CLOSTRAPHOVIC!!!) (just kidding.)

I had a char that was accused of rape and His response always was “how did her clothes get off”.? The only person who can remove clothes is the player that is getting raped. I even understand that its RP of a helpless char, but mojo is right that it cannot happen unless someone rp’s it. Don’t play it.

Now this doesn’t change if the newspawns are getting it, but we just finished establishing that this players M.O. is to use flattery until a situation arises where he can become an aggressive predator. If that’s the case, then how did her (or his?) clothes come off? Maybe it was something consensual that got a little rough and someone decided to RP it as rape, or some players enjoy being the victims and inject that into the game as well.

I am pretty sure I have dealt with this player too, or at least one of his clones. I agree, he is well disguised and seems to come out when circumstances favor him. I have no desire to RP the stuff, because I had somebody close in my life experience it also. Its not fun, its not funny.

Yet I do have a problem when somebody who is very central to parts of the game and has been for a long time unsubs because they want somebody else to change things. This kind of attempted emotional blackmail, while I will miss some of your chars Arenti, I just don’t see how you think you helped anything by running away. When I leave, it will almost certainly be for good if the reasons are disgust with the way the game is played. I will not hint that I might come back after somebody else changes. For personal RL reasons is one thing, but that’s not the arena we are in right now is it?. Peace be with you my friend, we just have different ways of solving problems I guess. God bless and...

Be well.

Agreed. While I don't like that there are all these rapists in-game (most of which I have been lucky enough to not encounter at all, at least not in their 'rapist' role), I don't think that all the non-raping players unsubbing is the way to solve it. In a way, it's helping the rapist-character-playing player by eliminating targets who are unlikely to respond in the way the rcpp's want us to respond, and thus encouraging more of these to come around.

Or maybe I'm just being conspiratorial. Read, and either comment and tell me I'm crazy or whatever, or just ignore me. That's how I'm dealing with it for now.

So, if we un-sub, we let the rapists win?

Apparently, from Snickie's point of view, we're losing good players for clone-makers... So I agree with her, that by unsubscribing we let them overcome the game...

But I still think it would be funny if one of them tryed to rape my female char... The huge beating that he would take would be memorable! :D

And thus, so long as these clonemakers continue to exist and keep coming in, the good players who hint when they quit that they might come back if the game improves are less likely to come back at all, or stay long if they do come back.

I want to make it clear that I didn't run away, my reasons for stopping with cantr had only indirectly to do with all those rape chars. It robbed lots of the fun away from cantr for me, but I stopped mostly because of having too many things going on in my life and needed to cut back and Cantr was the logical choice especially because I didn't have fun in cantr for a long time. Yes it had to do with the rape chars because I'm disgusted by how often it happened and that it seems a certain player gets a kick out of playing chars that rape other chars.
There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

1. Can we drop the rape angle? Most of the ones I knew didn't rape. It was more of a "do anything they can think of for sex" kind of thing. If that happened to be rape, then he'd happily go there.

2. Arenti's chars weren't being raped, they were just having to deal with the fallout surrounding it.

3. Are we REALLY suggesting that the best way to stop a behavior of ONE player is to get ALL other players to stop a different behavior? Good luck with that. Let me know when you get around to also getting people to stop being jerks to each other, driving drunk, etc., because that will be awesome.

4. There is no good solution other than to just wait it out until the player gets bored, suck it up and just ignore it as best as possible, or hold our noses kill every single one of his chars as soon as they're spotted, which I'm not entirely sure I trust people to do.

My guess is that we can talk about it all we want, but unless you can get all people to agree on something (like not RP'ing sex with weirdos) (and... have you met humans lately? Have you ever known any random group of people larger than three that was able to unanimously agree on ANYTHING even as simple as where to go for dinner?) we're going to have to do the things that only rely on ourselves to carry out. (e.g. ignore it as best as possible)

And maybe this is a slight change of opinion from my earlier statements, but I'm allowed to do that.

Hope you're able to sort out everything life throws at you buddy, and that you can rejoin us at some point. . Your chars were wonderful.
