I don't quite understand this. What is the benefit from being (part of) a larger organization? What can any organization do (economywise) that cannot be accomplished by a single character (given enough time, of course)?
The only thing i can think of is shared use of machines and tools. Apparently that is not
enough to induce systematic economical cooperation in the game. So,
if we want more economy in the game, i suggest introducing more, different benefits from cooperation (
and specialization,
and trade).
If you don't know what the benefit is of having a larger organization (I say this the nicest way I know how,) then that's sad. Anyone who knows anything, knows that the more people you have, the more you PRODUCE. As well as CONSUME. Any trader will know to go to a big city with rare goods to trade because they know a big city is capable to fork out the dough in exchange for the items. A larger organization can very clearly accomplish more t han a two person company. The more people you have in an organization the more work gets done and the more work gets done quickly. It's not a math problem to figure out that a company with 10 active workers is better than a company with 5. A company with 10 characters can dominate towns, grow, expand. If you get a player who actually knows what they're doing behind the characters, they will do so and successfully. Soon you'll see outposts popping up in different towns, and you'lll see items coming into those towns from the home port (that were traded,) that are rare.
Let me ask you, "What is there to accomplish in this game period?" I don't think I understand what you mean when you say characters should be rewarded .....
Wtf do you mean by that?
Isn't a character already rewarded when he works and gets paid? When he steals and is successful? When he builds a company that manages to dominate three towns and noone can seem to take him out of power?
Further, I don't understand what you mean when you say a character "can" create a sizeable economy of their own without needing any other character. I think t hat's a false statement. I have never seen a one man economy that actually made a huge impact on this game. Never. There is no such thing as an economy with one person because you can't build an economy off of one person. That just doesn't even make sense to me. Sure there's a guy who goes out, farms all his food, digs all the stone to build his building, builds all his machines, gathers his limestone and coal and hematite and then makes his iron all by himself---But he's not contributing to an economy at all when he does that. So it isn't economy. Plus it takes him a hundred years. Are you suggesting that it be made easier for people to live like that? ( I know you're saying you need to reward people for cooperation,) but I can't really see how you expect to do that...
The reward is already very clear to me.................
People who haven't figured out the reward need serious help.
I don't understand how people can sit and complain that they need help and motivation to ---basically......."Cooperate with other characters" Are you fucking kidding me?
I hate people.
