Then the leader of that attack (usually the spy that had spent days in the town to see what people went into what building and what weapons and protection they had) would simply call out a letter for them to begin their task.

Okay, I just have to ask. Does one of your spies have the initials P.U. and ride a bike with a really deceptive name? This has been bugging me for a long time.

I don't know, my Baron (Baron F) was killed. They may not even do things the same way anymore. But, I doubt that anyone with the initials PU would be a spy. I really don't know.

I keep hearing about Barons killing people lately. It makes me sad. I feel for those who got their characters killed, even if they weren't so crushed about it, I still feel for them. Where's the point anymore? You have more riches an average potato farmer could ever even dream of, still you must have more. And you can never stop fighting since there will always be someone trying to hunt you down, as long as there's people left. It's a tale with no heroes since everyone is crushed and forgotten.

They do about it so they can talk about it on the forums afterwards. In any case, I'm not too impressed. :)

I never talked about it until asked about it. If you're not impressed with what they have going on, you've not run into them. They aren't just drag and kill thieves. They plan for years and execute well designed strategies.

If the original members hadn't been snubbed by "Leaders" in the region they would have never organized.

As far as glory seeking...maybe. But, they don't leave notes lying around saying "killed the Barons" or 'Conquered by the Barons", etc.

I think they closely resemble bandit tribes that have always existed throughout history. I think they bring a real life societal problem to the area. It proves how weak the governments are to not have been able to stop them for all these years.

I don't have a Baron any longer, but I'm impressed.

From what I've seen I'm impressed too, even ifthey're pure evil and I hate 'em all and hope every last one dies a horrible, horrible death.

It's really amazing how quick and wellorganized they are, considering all the trouble I've had with several of my chars just convincing a tiny handul of people to stay awake and on-task. So many people are just dumb, like they want to spend 4 days carving a bagh-nakh instead of helping with tools and machines that would help everybody get steel weapons. Maybe it's not so much that the Barons are smart but that a lot of the towns they're attacking are too apathetic or unorganized to defend themselves?

Yes, the baron plans took years and years to plan out. Some steps took a year or so, but others which took 5 days or so were the short ones. Stan is correct, (well he made them), The plans were precise step by step plots. Such as.. Roll into town. Stay Quiet until leader says the go word. Everyone goes inside, make a lock, drag everyone in, and bam, that town is gone. The way it was set up at home base, Blamon Mountains, the phrase Welcome to Blamon Mountains ment help me drag. So the other people had no idea what was going on. And yes we killed some of our own who went to far into it and just said wait this is wrong. S joined for a certain reason, I was a newspawn looking for food and I left, F comes and hits me and I turn around.
That is my perspective.

Yes, I love the Barons, even after having lost two characters to them in the blink of an eye (I am sorry, but I can't watch the game 24/7, my real life is a bit too demanding, leading to a 67.56% greater chance that my charries will become pirate fodder under the current game mechanics). Stan is right about the organization. It was horribly sad throughout the region, and the only thing that would motivate people to actually cooperate, work together and trade was the thought of being killed mercilessly by the Barons swooping in. In fact, the success of the Barons is quite dependent on character inactivity and boneheaded leadership, in my opinion.

Having said that....I hope you all finally die a thousand deaths for what you did to my characters! You suck. It's people like you and the players of the Blackrocks that ruin all my chances for fun in this freaking game!

I think we really do slow down on the OOC Baron chatter, though. I liked it better when F was in charge and we didn't get all of this success info, releasing the tricks of the trade, etc. I would rather see it play out completely in game until it is all said and done, and then write up about three chapters of history for the Chronicles of Cantr.

Nitefyre had said earlier that the players with Baron characters are really only looking for self esteem outside of the game, and I must disagree. I admit that having the Barons mentioned gave me some measure of pride- being part of something beyond myself that other players had taken notice of. However, the notoriety is due to the Baron's calculated maliciousness, and I can see how many characters, as well as players, misunderstand the extreme brutality because they are so far removed from it that they cannot relate. Truthfully, the Baron characters are brilliantly roleplayed. They are driven toward inhumane acts for various reasons, and strangely enough very commonplace ones at that. Some were born into it and are just as repulsed by "normal" cantr society as it is of them. Some were drawn by love, by money, by emotional torture. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the players behind these characters, and I would like to thank them here for showing me just how fun this game can be when you game with players that take their fun seriously. *nod to Thad* well played. *takes a bow* Thank you! You're the first that I've not met before to mention any characters of mine on the forums. *is so proud*
Thad was my favorite, those last few hours...I had the most fun with him as I've ever had my whole time playing cantr. Loads of fun, I tell ya.
Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back.

i must say that the Barons were highly organised...
before the barons came up, all governments of the regions did nothing but sleep along with the citizens... te whole Sjoftich region was sleepy... if the barons hadn't been there, my char would still be sleep doing nothing but waisting food, along with most of the others. Even though they're giving my char a very hard time now, i love the Barons....

I agree and will not say any more. Sorry for that.
