 Wasn't that helped a little by Piers Anthony c.s.? :)

Piers came before the sneeze attacks I think. There had to be at least a Cantr decade difference between Piers massacre of Cantr City and the introduction of colds.

There was. A good decade and a half or maybe two, actually.

When....

...the Cantr World would cease to exist until the end of the month because the bandwidth had been exceeded. (I think that was the reason).

...someone in game or out of game suggested that we start to build shields because damage was about to be put into effect.

...you remember someone telling us to make clothes because soon weather would be a factor.

...you can't really remember the specifics of what you remeber when.

...building a bike was a BIG deal.

...when locks were unbreakable.

...the only tools you needed to be a productive member of society were a hammer, screwdriver, and trowel.

...you could build a sabre with 300 grams of iron and a hammer, no anvil needed and no special tools or handle or leather.

...the sabre change took place and I immediately started 20 crossbow projects just incase the crossbow was the next weapon to become more complicated.

...your characters were young and in their fifties.

With the exception of Jos' smart-alecky ones, I remember all of this.

I even remember making an anvil in the Fisherman's Wharf so my Stonecutter could make a sabre. 15-20 cantr years after I started playing, and just after anvils were implemented. It's still there, and my character still has the sabre.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Hehe - not too horribly old of a memory - but remember when you could make some clothing without actually using the cloth/tools needed?

All those silk jackets.... lol

And later ivory jewelry - on lands without elephants.

Seems to be a very definite divide between mid-to-oldbies (like myself) and very oldbies (who remember things like steel from the ground... :P )...

Not sure if that makes me feel better or worse... :?

Ooh, I know! When you got over 800 posts on the forums. Since above that everyone sounds familiar but then there's some Polish dude with 700+ posts.

Now, I disagree... there are many people with huge numbers of forum posts that are not oldbies...

I'm a definite newbie, as my first charrie is only 24!

Sounds like Cantr has had an interesting history. I hear about things happening way in the past, and it's like hearing about the history of Middle Earth! 'Cept without orcs an' stuff...

Some of this history should be written down; if not in stories then at least in some kind of encyclopedia... maybe the Wiki?

I was probably one of the first to sign up on this forum, though my post count isn't that significant as I rarely post nonsense or when I don't have something reasonable to add.

That still doesn't explain how you have 663 posts.
