The whole idea of the roadmap is actually that it will not be all implemented at once, but very gradually, step-by-step. So no, you will not lose all you have no, as it will be a gradual change of the current system rather than implementing a completely new one at once (which was the original plan, before the roadmap).

1) I really don't want java based game. I hate java, because it slows my computer much!
2) I would be very happy if GAC and PgD add burial process to priorities list
I like an idea of free walking but I agree with west - now there are too few of us to do so. If we add another 0 to the end of number of chars - it would be a great idea!

If you are in the habit of cleaning the objects page from bodies every day and you have a char in a big city and/or polish area, then your activities page becomes cluttered with burial projects pretty quickly. And if you have to spend a lot of time of cleaning your activity list and there comes no end to it, I doubt it motivates.

I agree with PRUT. And I think, that C++ would be better. Anyway, I think that Cantr not need all that changes! Cantr is good as it is now. I don't need graphics.

I have been thinking about the instant move problem and I am not sure if I have seen this idea before, but it might be worth considering.
Each character should have a "Move Remaining" field. As the character moves from place to place. He/she should be moved instantly, but an amount should be deducted from his move remaining count. At the end of an hour, when the time comes to update projects, base the amount of work(or travel) done on how much of the Move Remaining the character has left.

cantr is great without graphics... the reason i love it so much is the imagination involved in everything...
another thing. when characters will ba able to do everything, or most of the things, there won't be much need for roleplaying anymore. there won't be reading involvd unless someon says something. when we can see everything in graphics the game won't be so "text-based" any more.
i love all the ideas, i can do with out graphics, there are a thousand games on the market with awesome graphics if thats what you're looking for. and won't the graphics slow the whole system?

I agree with those that don't like Java. There are too many people on older systems that will have too many problems to use it. Also, if you use a client program, you'll have the problem of having to support it across multiple platforms, and then upgrade the client to keep on par with OS updates. It seems keeping it strictly on the web solves all that for you, and you can devote your time to improving the game instead of maintaining it in an ever-evolving sea of operating systems.
Personally, the only useful thing I can think of for graphics is to actually see other characters. It would be fun to give my player an appearance that others could see, and the way clothing is implemented now, it's not nearly as prominent a feature as it would be in the real world.

Sweet! I was complaining about the dependency on text in another thread and redirected to this one. I was envisioning a graphics/user-type environment like Runescape. Though to modify it to fit Cantr there would be no magic or stupid adventures/quests that isn't created by a fellow player. I like how runescape handles things like free walking, minerals, animals and such.
Minerals runescape style would work great in Cantr I think. Runescape has permanent locations for minerals on their maps and when you mine the minerals you only mine so much at a time before it is depleted in that location and you have to wait a set amount of time before the minerals are back to be mined. With Cantr having deteriorating weapons and tools it would be hard to have too much gold or other precious mineral running round the Cantr world. If there was too much, a simple fix would be needed where a set limit of grams of gold in the Cantr world can exist and as the amount of gold approaches that limit the mines produce less and less gold as the game waits for enough tools or weapons containing those elements to deteriorate into nothing. The limit could be automatically raised too, as the number of players signing up for Cantr increases.
Free-walking would challenge policing for certain regions. Then people could just leave notes equivalent to wanted posters. Every player would have "dogtags" that could not be removed from their person except from somebody that would take them from their dead body. Of course bounty hunters wouldn't have to kill everyone they wanted to bring in for their rewards. Their could be handcuffs and rope and such where the offfender could be "arrested" and drug in. If the offender were a good lock picker or clever they might be able to escape from the handcuffs and from the bounty hunter and then you would have lots of scenarios keeping people busy with cat and mouse type adventures they have imposed on themselves.
Buildings would be challenging, but I think I have a suggestion for a solution. All buildings have a master key for their entrances. Whoever builds the building has the master key after it is finished. That person "owns" the building in so far as he can keep people in our out. They can copy and distribute the key as they wish or give away the original. Of course their owning of the building can be usruped by skilled lockpickers which adds fun and interesting dimensions to the game. Each building should have a unique building code so that the name of the building can still be changed as those who "own" it change, but the unique building code would still make it possible for people to find a particular place even if the name of it has changed. The buildings should be able to deteriorate akin to weapons and tools, so if regular repairs are not made to it the building falls apart, this would create something like ghost towns for areas that become unused over time and if someone else ever wanted to rebuild over a ghost town they would just have to destroy what is left of whatever buildings exist or repair buildings they wanted to keep and move in.
Finally the last thing I remember wanting to touch on is babies. I don't like the idea because unstable characters will have whole new realms to act upon their insanity. I don't want to see or read about child molesters or guys running around targeting children with his recurve bow or whatever. That's all for now.

Oh yeah, while every player should always be in the game, I think it would be nice to know which players are actually being controlled by humans at the time you meet them. I don't want to wait a day for someone to logon and answer my question about where I am or where I need to go. It would be nicer to know which players are active so I can ask them and get my question answered right away. Inactive players could be a grayer color and active players would be brighter.

This game is better than any other MMORPG in many ways. I wonder if I can count them.
1. I can be any kind of person I want. I can be a peasant or a leader. I can be a soldier or a craftsman. I can be a revolutionary or a tyrant. I can be shy or outgoing. I can be a jerk or nice. I can be predictable or unpredictable.
2. The economy works how I choose to particpate in it. It can represent a communist, socialist or capitalist system.
3. Leaders can be assassinated or overthrown. Police can be escaped from. Authority is not absolute if I am good enough to get around it or away from it.
4. I am not required to do anything I don't want to do. I don't have to do specific missions to get certain skills to level up. I don't have to fight monsters, collect weird artifacts, run errands or conform to some norm. My occupation is my choice whether it be a politician, craftsman, soldier, farmer, etc. and it can change at any time.
5. I can kill to a reasonable extent without motive anywhere on the map. No one has so much freedom in the game so as to become a Nazi-esque regime, but the ability to create a little terror is not unreasonably outside of my abilities.
6. Property is controlled only insofar as the one who "owns" it can forcefully make sure it stays theirs. Nearly anything can change ownership through one means or another.
That's about all I can think of for now. Please tell me why you think my suggestions change any of these dynamics. I am only suggesting superficial changes. I wouldn't want anything to change about what makes this game great. If you know any other online games that allow me to do all of those six listed things that has better graphics than Cantr please let me know.
