On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year, you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Benz
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said,'We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,'said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
but you can never leave!

You should see it as an OPPORTUNITY, to do something to better a frontier... If the char gets massacred, such is life, but that doesn't mean oh I'm running home and taking all my toys, there is a reason you have FIFTEEN characters... I really am getting impatient with this viewpoint that every place should be settled or peaceful and nice to live in for your char, remember you aren't you char, things going wrong for a char can be interesting, and even if it isn't very interesting for your char, by dying prematurely, you have FIFTEEN chars, some less but still alot.

What I see at Sring-Sri Island now is FINALLY a possible forging of a unified island which I have been dreaming of for over a RL year OOC. But half of what I hear is self-centred whining. This _could_ be a new age for Sring-Sri island, an island that may eventually throw its weight around over seas, making for some VERY interesting RP... But no... as usual most people can't see past their own nose...

sring sri island in itself I do not think was boring. sure you have those new spawns that want to kill themselves all the time, but sring sri is not the only place that occurs. while i do agree it occurs more frequently there. I like the idea of starting out in an underdeveloped place and trying to turn it into something.

I had a couple chars on that island and they had ideas for the place but the work was slow going. we were finally starting to get somewhere and then the massacre comes along. Maybe if i hadn't worked so hard it wouldn't bother me so much but i put more into one of those chars than all my others. We weren't just misunderstanding Dhung, they were misunderstanding us too. It's really too bad they couldn't just talk things out.

oh and for the interesting aspect it all depends on your RP style and your role in the activities, if your role wasn't active then it probably did seem boring, but if you were involved in it all the time it is much less boring.

as for what David wrote about the island being united now that is a objectible area now. It wasn't unified by choice, it was unified by killing everyone. We in sring sri had wanted to unify but it had to work in all areas not just us. as for self-centered whining, one looking objectively at this could say whatever side you take might be considered self-centered. We have the right to our opinions on the matter and of course when our chars get involved we can be upset about it. You gotta remember some of us are so addicted we feel what our chars are going through, lol.

My character is in his fourties/high thirties I think, and has spent his life building up one region. In the beginning it was a race to see who could construct a building and start something. I won. My character marched into Dhung to get iron before DIG existed. He was attacked by the newly formed Iron Guard and was upset the iron was now restricted... it seems in my haste to put up a building, I let the iron source become cut off to me. My character spent days debating with the queen, fending off her attacks and finally earning trust and gaining iron. This was very hard to do and very involved RP to become accepted and gain access to the iron.

He returned to his home and continued a boring existance, helping poor Rp'ers kill off their characters so they might spawn elsewhere. NOTHING happened for 10 years!

All I saw was people crying about the island and trying to get killed. Maybe a island with only 5 regions is too small for people to try. Maybe an island without oil or rubber to make roads and bikes is not something people want. These experiences shaped my character to not value other people's lives. Do not judge my RP and game playing unless you have spent 20 years in my shoes. No one on that island deserves to live according to my guy. They are a waste of food and their corpses are less valuable than dead scarabs.

I have heard the objections of the other players and understand fully why they are upset but that changes nothing. Agan I say, Go bake some bread for 10 more years or get involved in the new STORY.

On another side note... whenever I sign on, I always know that I will see that some characters will be in bold (meaning there is activity in their world). My Character in Sring Sri was hardly ever bold, hardly nothing ever happened around him, no talk, no movement, no nothing. Now, I am entertained by activity. I made that happen.

By killing my character who had baked bread for her entire life? Smooth move, Bowser. Pardon me if I don't thank you for livening things up for my 2nd oldest character, now my first deadest character.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Just for the record, my character from the Sring-sri island is 38. He's lead a very full life, he's made friends, he's lost friends, he's travelled to every town on the island, he spoke with King Dev on a couple occasions, my char is a happy guy and never wanted power. I agree, a character should make the most of where ever they are. My character that was on that island is the one I'm most proud of. He left by boat, a few minutes it seems like, before the massacre. If he hadn't left, he'd be dead. When I talk about people killing themselves off on that island, I'm not suggesting it, I'm just stating a fact that does exsist. Also, the only thing I've really learned is that the massacre happened because people were "talking bad" about the D.I.G. people..? That's really insecure and lame of whoever was the svengali of the plan. If your in a position of power, people will talk bad about you. It's usually out of jealousy. What are going to do? Kill everyone who "says bad things" about you. lol. I don't know if there such a thing as "overkilling" but, I know that this incident was senseless. The islanders were equiped with trowels and wooden shields. If the D.I.G is that threatened by defensless people gossiping about them then may I suggest you guys get some thicker skin.

With that said keep in mind I love you as people, just disagree with this incident. :D

Wait, does a trowel require iron? He didn't have one of those. I meant stone hammer. Maybe you guys were afraid of being stone hammered to death.
