Having a source of iron makes rude?

I think the key thing is that Iron isn't that difficult to get if you are a settled, familiar person. That isn't really trade so much as sharing through the extremely communal societies that tend to form. If you just walk in (as a stranger) and say 'I have limestone and I want to trade for iron', a lot of people don't respond. Even if they need the limestone.

Strange. My character just gave away 500 grams of his Iron, scot free. Which, in frank, is more than 80% of his entire remaining Iron. Not all people are greedy and need Iron or Steel to seem "In Power". They just need to be well known and liked by everyone and the power of persuasion will be the only "power" they need.
This, of course, isn't true everywhere.
