My character was just born yesterday. I'm now starving, and have no idea how to eat. I picked stuff off the ground, but I haven't eaten it yet, and there's no way to interact with it other than to drop it. The interface is crowded - I have to zoom in using the browser to see the font. THERE'S NO MAP! Just arrows to click to move. I guess if you don't want to get lost, you have to sit with graph paper and map it old school. My siblings are all whining about how bored they are. Their mother can't keep track of them.
All in all, I wait over 4 months to play, and FTO is a huge disappointment. I hope I starve to death.

1. You can only eat objects, not resources. Babies cannot prepare food, they need their parents or older siblings to produce it.
2. You can interact with others by emoting. When you put stuff between the **, it gets recognized as an emote and won't get turned into stuff like "mama dada gaa!" but at the moment emotes can't be used together with talking. The best way of expressing hunger I've seen was sucking on one's fist. And of course crying helps. I can imagine your character must be very confused and afraid so he should probably cry a lot.
3. Yeah, I think the interface is pretty crowded too, although I have no trouble with reading small font. It could be broken into subpages.
4. There's not much need for traveling because locations can contain shitloads of resources, for example wood on the mountains or dry brush on the plains. In my colony we have only traveled once and even that was after a great deal of planning. Remember that the world is new so of course there are no maps. People can make stone tablets and parchment to write down their traveling discoveries but if people don't travel much then they can remember the few locations they've seen even without a map. Being on the road is very boring since you can't do anything, not interact with other characters since you can't even see them. It's like being in a void for days until you pop out at the next location. Quite a scary experience. Also smallest kids can't travel at all. I'm not sure where the age limit goes.
5. When people are forced to breed fast due to OOC pressure, it leads into a situation where parents can't form a bond with their children because they all look alike. Expressing a personality might help.
6. Reading the forums generally helps. Also sending your feedback to Lumin instead of (or in addition to) us might make it more useful.

1) It should say that in the guide then. Apparently, my parents aren't bothering to produce food to feed me.
2) They know I'm hungry.
6) I only read forums for things I like, and there's nothing about this I like. As for bitching to Lumin, I don't feel like it. I have issues with telling someone the product of their blood and sweat isn't good enough for me. I'd rather just starve in peace.
Being born as some odd wolf-man was pretty much the final nail in the casket of any effort I had planned to expend in FTO. (and infinite minutes in Cantr sapped what desire to play I had left after the ridiculously long wait.)
I don't want to hijack this thread. I just wanted to express my total disappointment.

I'm actually enjoying FTO. I have a shitload of siblings who roleplay so its not bad. Potential. And helpful parents AND siblings.

It's possible to change email address and password in the account menu so you should be able to give your account to someone else. There's also a "disable my account" button which should most likely kill off your character, not to let him linger. I'm sure there are some people who'd rather take over a little neglected wolf-guy than spend months in the queue.

Wish i could, but my number is so high in the queue I'm never going to be born. -_-;
And that's why I signed up when the forum there had 5 members. Ha. Early starters reap rewards.

Uhh this might sound awkward as we don't know each other at all, but, can I have your baby?
I hate the family I was born into, they're sleepers. I would take excellent care of it, I swear. PM me?
