Re: Favorite Cities
It was always such a cold, miserable, industrious place.
I loved it. :p

Re: Favorite Cities
Lol I wouldn't let it affect my characters. It'd be interesting to see what's changed there now. My char hated that place... and later helped free it at some point. I don't remember all the particulars at this moment.

Re: Favorite Cities
Mell, I don't want to be mean, but you're character hasn't even been there since before Silkwood changed it's name, and got a new government. So you don't really know what it's like. And your char's tantrum with that other char (who has since left) is seriously messing things up for those of us who were left behind.
Anyway, it's really nice now, and fair, and we're all working very very hard to make it a better place for everyone living there. :]
It's not a 'cold, miserable, industrious place' anymore--quite the opposite, I think. It's a little quiet, but several chars have commented on how lively it is compared to how it was before--and that previous leaders/residents were not very nice.
But we are now, and it's nice to kind of be building the place from the ground up, figuratively speaking.

lol
i find it ironically funny that she left after blaming my char for doing the same thing. no matter what her reason, that's hypocrisy at its best!
but okay, maybe its different. for its sake, i hope so.
but, back on topic:

Really? Last time I had a char there, it was mostly non-English (Polish, iirc). Not that it was bad - the people were very welcoming even if only one of them was able to translate for my char. Just surprised if more English are there now.

it is non-english. but several of the chars have learned a lot of english, and i have never been in a place as welcoming, kind, and fair. they are an awesome bunch, -very- active, and really know how to make my char feel like she is in an exotic location.

Re: Favorite Cities
I think pretty much anything could be better than what that place was way back in the days I was around it.
But it certainly provided interesting play, as oppressive as it was. One character had a bad experience with the place and another simply disliked it, but one had a decent experience with it, even if sometimes she got the creeps.
I'm not really sure what I would call my favorite city right now. I guess the place my current favorite character to play is, for its activity and the great characters around there.
It'd be difficult to decide on a place from the past as well. I'd say that Old Blackrock/Karnon Forest was an amazingly fun time forever ago (though I'm aware it was already ancient even when I found it fun). I think my eldest still dreams of those days. Brunoi was fun for a time. Olip West... had a blast there at one time as well. I've never really had so much a favorite city as favorite characters. And those favorite characters always were favorites based on the world around them.
