As for OOC coordination, it makes sense to me that when you play a game you play within the game area, ie logged into Cantr.

Okay my position requires you do 2 things...1. accept it can be done somewhat easily at low risk of being caught, and accept some have done it in the past, are doing it now, or will do it in the future.

2. The players of cantr are a very real "part" of the game, whether logged in or not. Therefore things inside cantr also exist outside of it.(in my head mostly) Where alot of "logged in" decisions are made".Why not add a few heads? or have it better worked out with more direction?

I fully admit I am insane, Do I need a disclaimer on my Sig?

That's not true.

You and I may have the time to spend on these forums. So may others.

LOTS of players never use these forums.
Many players never have any contact with any other players in any way, apart from character interactions.

If we start allowing people OOC arrangements, the we disadvantage those who do not have the time to make frineds, find out who plays who, IM them etc etc.

Cantr is good, in that it does not really advantage those with more time.

Now, I will say this just a little nicer.

Stop telling people to go find something else when they try to start a discussion about this games mechanics. None of you have any right to tell someone else to do something like that, stop insulting them with that and have the damn discussion.

Some of you will say I am a hypocrite.. but really, it needs to stop. That is one thing that pisses me off when it happens. Again some will point and say "hypocrite" but whatever.. just stop telling other players to play another game or find a new forum because of something they say or want a discussion on.

Cantr is a certain type of game. One which limits people to In-Game organisation only. And there are good reasons for that. If someone honestly does not like this, then Cantr is probably not the type of game they would enjoy - there are many alternatives out there.

I rarely resort to the 'go play something else' line, as I'm all for pestering people until something changes, rather than just quitting like many others. But this is something quite fundamental about how Cantr works.

Well then forget about the "Go Play Something Else" line and have the discussion the person wanted!

This truth cannot be argued against, I admit that. However, I believe the same handicap exist between a daily active player and a weekly one, I don`t think this tips the balance enough to be detrimental to that weekly player.....

And your not responding to my assumption of this already being done and abused by some, possibly staff, I only say instead of persecution which gets us nowhere, but lonely. We ammend it for reasonable guidelines for its use......

I think cantr benefits those with more time greatly... look at those who can use all 200 mins in a day and those who cant.......I do sometimes but mainly because I have 15 characters. I cant imagine what you people with 5 could really get done in a day, if you really wanted too and the other charrie you were talking to had the same luxury.... Messengers could make this game more strategic and accessible, something I know most wont like. I have enjoyed the discussion on this. Thank you everyone who has been involved. I hope this thread stays aound as ongoing discusiion into CRB`s in general :)

Bran-Muffin: To discuss - why not. But there are some proposals which would change Cantr idea far beyond acceptable level for most of the players and crew. This is one of such proposals, so "Go Play Something Else" means no chances to accept such proposal. You can discuss of course, but do not expect it being implemented/applied to game.

I disagree. This is not incredibly fundamental because all these things your characters would likely perceive the same way. If I did it all on MSN and than just typed A for my speech to this other character, you would be none the wiser and it would effect nothing.

You see a man in his twenties speaking to a man in his twenties.

Its not that I dont like this I just feel it could be handled better and I am likely in the minority, like I posted earlier, I am trying to gereate discussion nothing more.

You see Enemy 1 speaking toEnemy 2.
You see Enemy 1 speaking to Enemy 2.
You see Enemy 2 speaking to Enemy 1.
You see Enemy 1 speaking to Enemy 2.

Such lines in game would cause my character to act more careful, maybe even hide in building. When it would have been done on MSN, my character wouldn't have chance to avoid attack.

You see other blacksmith speaking toiron ore merchant.
You see iron ore merchant speaking to other blacksmith.
You see other blacksmith speaking to iron ore merchant.
You see iron ore merchant speaking to other blacksmith.

Such lines in game would cause my blacksmith character to quickly make an offer to a merchant, so she can compete with other blacksmith.

Many expamles of usability of "You see a man in his twenties speaking" can be given.

This isnt exactly in the suggestions area is it? Yeah it was formed as a proposal perhaps, but I think it was formed with the knowledge that it would spark a discussion about it. I think it was formed to get people talking about this subject and realize that it does happen and it is harder to police, just like the american prohibition. There will always be someone fighting the system in place until the rule is revoked, which may never happen and so the fight will always be there.

I bet 1:100 this discussion would not change CR. That's why I can safely say - "Sorry, there's no chances for doing that in the game. If you would like to play in such way, please try to find some other game."

Im glad at least you understand my point, Brandon. And I affirm your perception. If this was in the suggestion forum it would read:

Please end the minute cap, I`ll pay!!!!! So Im not tempted to use messengers and can spend all the time I choose on my character!

But, Im sure that has been rejected before. All Im trying to do is bring a very real problem to light, that some people use, some abuse, and all are theoretiacally barred from doing. Even though there is no quickfix to stopping this, and it only seems to cost cantr experienced players......

I bet that this discussion was not truly made to have the rule changed, he understands the fact that this poll will not decide the outcome of this policy. He just wants to have the discussion that this thread was intended to spark, making the slightly more polite way of saying find another game unnecessary.

I see the point. However I'd like to mention that many things has been recently changed and still are changing in possibilities of tracking down OOC breaches, cooperating players and so on. Of course such small accidents like Mykey example of religious leader still are hard to track down, but the more players cooperate - the bigger change of catching them, sooner of later.
