What's the use, friend? Of having Carpets? Where do you put the text saying 'this building has carpet'? In Objects?
(just discussing, still not assaulting you YET!)
When you think about it, all our characters need is food, and maybe some simple tools to hunt down animals, so why do they do anything at all? Sometimes people will do things just because they can, without any need for it.

Well, Solfius, Jason, I guess it's rather like clothery. Gives no actual bonus, besides social.
If you're trying to sell your wares inside a building, I reckon people would appreciate a really lavish carpet floor that is like,
You enter Bob's Swords, coming from unnamed location.
You see a rich, red carpet that one could almost sink into. (click here to ignore detail)
And it'd be in objects as well perhaps.

rather just say than read.
After building a building that building could have 1 and only 1 courtyard. Outside but isolated from the general public. Outdoor machines then could be built in the courtyard. For example, a drying rack. Only one drying rack instead of four like the general outdoor area. And the flighted animals can still attack. And of course you could not build indoor machines in the courtyard. I am by no means a programmer, but seems to me that should not be a monumental thing to accomplish. Did I mention that there must be at least 3 extentions. Can not be building within a building. Must be extention. An outdoor area surounded by rooms. Less machines working at a lesser rate. Now with that a good bit harder to script.
Please ProgDept, how hard or easy would this be? Would really like to know
Have to give something to those that can build buildings and a lock. I have seen a suggestion for machine locks, but need to be able to protect a machine you build, yet do not have the ability to put a lock on.

That's an interesting concept!

There's one very big problem with this... currently things like drying racks are potentially overpowered... so we limit them to 4 per town... if you added this, you break that limit, and it becomes impossible to keep in check... Also... I'm pretty sure there's at least a couple technical issues that would make coding this highly impractical... but then I'm not ProgD... I just think I've heard similar things mentioned before...

How about climbing and it would take one hour and be visible and you could be dragged down during it? It would be cool if resources could be captured inside a courtyard, then you could have your own personal garden, but it would only go for things that can be done on a limited area like farming and gathering flowers. No private coal mines or forests. Hmm, this just leads to the problem that gathering slots should be by resource instead of shared by all resources. It would be so cool if one could have their own garden in Cantr but the current system just doesn't support it, since everything is bundled up in a single spot.

-I'm confused with the cantr time.Actually, what you mean with one hour?
And I agree with the idea of courtyards and the "jumping the wall" action
.You may make a garden, but I think that would transfer one slot from the geneal área, or would make another? And, as gardens, burglars may dig tunnels under them.
-The interesting of modding buildings is more the defensive-decorative issue. You can make maybe a fortress, with walls, towers and these things(I love Middle Ages
) or build a palace like Versailles(ya me too
) with foutains, gardens and(did you saw 300
)......SHUT UP PHARENTESIS(ok!geez man
).
-About floors, I think thhe second one after dirty floor should be the wooden covered floor, you could jump this part and make a stone covered, but some kinds of floor would require the basic ones(wooden and stone)Actually I think that would require only stone....
But I have one question:
I can use toilets as a weapon?

Toilets have been suggested before, many times, and also suggested as weapons!

For instructions on this watch the movie Boondock Saints.
Not really digging the courtyard concept. Read Nakranoth's post above for why.

Ya, well, thieves can choose what they want to do to invade the Manor now
I think you're correct about this because digging a courtyard only envolves other concepts, taller walls that can't be climbed
and mathematic calculus to avoid digging into the manor's bathroom
Ok, I think that qote was pretty unecessaire(oui)

I'm thinking in a door with a kind of window. That would be useful because you can use it to see the people outside and maybe shoot them
or in jails, you can use to pass the rations to the prisioners.
Watch towers too, they enlarge the range of vision and can be used as defensive buildings.
And sculptures or decorative walls, painted walls like:
"You enter the chapel, you see a great dome with paintings and sculptures by the walls"
What you people think?
