with the dodging idea maybe the weigh carried by the person hitting + the weight of the weapon then the weight carried by the person being hit should come into play as a person swinging something that weigh's 10kilo's would have to take a fair old wind up telegraphing what there about to do so a mre nimble person would be more likely to dodge it but a lightly wiehted person with a dagger would almost have a garenteed hit against a person at weight limit

That would make the game more interesting I think, since then people would actually have a reason to make weapons other than sabre and crossbow. Also I still think a warhammer should be more powerful, if that hasn't been done yet.

The difference between ranged and close combat weapons should be introduced, e.g. on the road. Especially when random damage would allow warbows and huntingbows to penetrate iron shields.

I like the idea of armour, with the advantage of improved defence but slower movement creating an interesting balance.

I’d like to see some of the two-handed weapons, such as halberd and spear have a defensive capability, so that there is a high chance of blocking any attack from close range.
This would also allow range weapons, such as bows and blow pipes to play a role in any combat, as a slow moving target, with armour and two-handed weapon would be relatively easy to hit from a distance.

Perhaps all weapons could have a defensive capability as well as attack.
So a blowpipe/bow would have a very low chance of blocking any attack, a sword/sabre would have a medium chance and a halberd/spear quite high.
If a skill system is brought into play then the chances of attack/defence with each weapon could be increased over time and with practice.
