Holly is making me feel dizzy... I don't have the stamina to read what she says, even if it might be something important, I just get exhausted by simply seeing the huge blocks of text. Ok she has lots of things to process but could it be possible to make it shorter or talk to people in private sometimes?

Hmm. I think I’ll take a consensus on that Seko. I reckon about half of Holly’s conversations are private, anyway, and I ‘ve read on this forum , quite often, that people get annoyed by too much whispering (so do I) , so it’s just not possible to please everybody.. That said, I could whisper a bit more if enough people prefer that, but a lot of things are definitely best said out loud- not least because you can find yourself needing to repeat the same thing to a number of different people, which would seriously increase the volume of whispering – and eat up playing-time. It would be nice if we could talk to a selected group of characters, rather than everybody, when that need arises, but we can’t. Also, if somebody addresses one of my characters out loud, I think it’s best to respond out loud by-and-large, so it’s often dictated by what other characters choose to do. So, there’s a limit on how far I could reduce it.

I think you’ll find most of Holly’s speeches getting shorter, now we’re on the new server I was often resorting to long speeches because it took so very long for the page to load. If everything you say costs several minutes in loading time, you want to get good value out of it. That’s not the only reason, but a highly significant one. That sometimes led me to address several characters by turn, in the same text box. Not good style at all, but the only way to squeeze them all in before my time ran out.

Yeah, of the character's of Julie2's I've met, they all seem to be pretty loud.
But hey, a lot better than being inactive.

Public discussion is nice, it makes the town alive but indeed it's stressing to see a single character leading the show. If you could separate it into smaller pieces that would be much appriciated. It's hard to read when everything is in the same block. I would suggest separating segments with minor rp (*She turns to look at X.* and such) but at the moment such things would only increase the lenght and make us scream in terror. Gah, sorry, I know you don't mean to annoy people but it's just so exhausting sometimes.

Siom is always exhausting. There must be some sort of talk inducing substance in the potatoes they grow.

In nearly 3 years of playing, I've never had a char in Siom, I don't think.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

Before I went there, I was always thinking I should, especially the old baby thing was something I would have liked to see, but then tolomus quit and that probably ended it. When I finally got a character travel to Siom, and it happened quite suddenly... actually that is a fun story, you don't mind me sharing? Since it happened years ago.
There was this van Tyrone Jets and my character Jaina borrowed from Malfu Dorsk to go gather salt. They had to leave it behind because the roads were so bad. And Tyrone forgot to lock the door. A woman called Irelna had to guard it for years and was using it sometimes.
My other character Lewis happened to go to that region to gather rubber, and I had totally forgotten about the whole van, but when Irelna replied to something I said I suddenly realized it's the same van! At first I thought they had broken the lock and was mischieviously amused thinking Jets would get into trouble for letting the van get stolen... By the way I remember this happening the same day the IRC channel was established. Anyway, Irelna asked my character if he'd want to take a ride and he was all why not (never been in a vehicle before - or after either, in fact).
Then we ended up in Siom. Woah it's a big town, so many buildings and so much noise. And pineapples, now there's a funny looking thing! Bumping into all the people, there was two Michaels and one or two plain Mikes. I think it was Michael Hart but can't be 100% sure, anyway he got all neurotic when Lewis adressed him a Mr, since there's yet another title to remember. Lewis had been staying in Quillanoi for a while and there everyone seems to call each other with last names so the habit stuck.
Then there was the sleeping beauty, Sheriff Zady, I titled her beautiful for some reason even before I ever saw her doing anything, maybe it was something in her equipment or clothing. When she woke up, Lewis was all charmed watching her, though he knew it would never lead into anything. I don't remember if he ever directly spoke to her. Had to continue the journey on foot since when Irelna went back to the woods, Tyrone had finally managed to get back in there and was taking the van back. Of course it doesn't end there but the Siom part does. Uh, did you understand any of this?

Makes perfect scents to me but then again i had a character in the forest who saw most of the stuff with the van.
It'll fit.... I have a saw.

lol, it made sense to me too, Seko.

I actually don't mind Holly's rants, they're more entertaining that having a million lines of You see so and so talking to this person. But that's just my opinion :) I like Siom, it seems to be one of my more active spots. I play Jena there.

Yeah. Siom is good... I don't know why people don't like it... it's so bustling! :D

It just tends to eat up some much of your time reading about everything that's happened in Siom, especially when I'm asleep IRL as it happen's. But I've gotta love Julie2's reply about her charries long speechs... a huge block of text!

It's sad. The recent sleeping-sickness epidemic (due to the slow server, presumably) must have wiped out about a third of the population (to judge by the number outside.) Is it the same in other big towns?
