The problem with my best schemes is that those characters are still alive, so I can't brag about them ...but I had some really good ones.

I only have one who can be considered truly evil. And the evil he does is more out of curiosity than malice. It's not that he hates everyone, it's just that he doesn't care whether his actions harm them. Some people he DOES hate. Those don't really live long.

Most of my other characters are generally good. Several would be considered ruthless by their enemies, but they're generally peaceable honorable people.

Some will do somewhat bad things if nobody's looking, but their overall persona is pretty upstanding.

I do agree with Pirog as far as the Maily/Maynard thing went. It's all about PR.

I really dislike people who have more than a few evil characters--at least as that usually manifests, as liars, thieves, and (when they can get away with it) pirates or massacrers. It's lame. All pirates are basically the same, at least in the KDS area, and I think it's piss-poor roleplaying.

Most 'evil' characters aren't even interesting.

 I'm so ashamed... All my characters live honest lives. I have one who occasionally is an ass to people, but she's still a good person at heart. I have another who's definitely a lawful neutral. But still, not one really bad. It's sort of boring.

I don't generally creat evil characters either. A lot of my characters can be seen as bad/evil but I don't feel they are. I have one who's fairly arrogant, and some people get a mixed impression of what he's really about. The weird part is, he's very pro life, and really doesn't like to kill even thieves, although it's part of his job. But on another note, if something happened to someone he cared about due to violence, he gets pretty irrate.

I have 1 who is plotting the downfall of a certain town for many years now. I don't consider her evil either. She cares about life just like anyone else, but she also wants to see her town reform into something productive, to do that, means killing when the time comes, and unfortunately that means mostly everyone if her plan works right.

Im going to have to say I don't create evil characters, a lot of it depends on where the characters are spawned at, and how their personality forms over a time + the effects of that place and his/her overall happiness/unhappiness. I really think thats how all beings are in any society. It isn't as if even the murderers in the real world feel absolutely nothing. :)

I agree. Most people becomes pirates for idiotic reasons...like Deveraux who became a pirate and started to attack people just because she felt neglected. That isn't natural.
Some are RP'd good though...like Yashmina and Atlantis, who both has done a good job of continuing to play although their chances of being free are very, very slim. It's the ones that gives up and starts over with a new character as soon as they are caught that I think are playing badly.

I've got one who's definitely bad. Not evil...just the dark side of true neutral. He started out on the light side...but that didn't work well. So now he's trying the other way. Too bad people don't buckle well...I know any of my characters would have cooperated with someone acting like him. Well, only the smart, practical, and stationary ones...so that's maybe three out of 8 that would.

One who started out with evil intent...now isn't really evil anymore, probably. Could still snap, though, if given the right incentive. The question is whether the disguise has become the truth yet. Recent events show that the original identity still has some grip...I don't know where that one will go in the end.

My one lost character wasn't evil, but she certainly had murder in mind. Multiple murder. Actually, a lifetime of murder. But it was for a good cause... Cut down just as it was getting off the ground. :(

My newest could go either way. One man has the power to guarantee he goes evil...I don't know if he has the power to prevent it. Another true-neutral type...but with the potential to move towards lawful/neutral good, and the deginithe potential to go to chaotic/neutral evil/badness. A certain local leader is feeding that inclination...but then, the way he thinks, slightly chaotic evil and fairly lawful good aren't nearly as far apart as you might expect...

All my others are basically neutral, with good tendancies. More or less. One of them is lawful neutral with some good, or lawful good with a helping of neutral...the others have strong chaotic tendencies. So hard to live by rules, when the rulemakers are so dumb...or evil...or annoying.

Seems like I'm cronicly unable of playing bad. I dislike the idea of someone being born evil or having no goodness in him/her though in real life I have doubted this when it comes to bullies and such... But I guess deep down they had their reasons. I was once going to have a massacring character, but then he found out there had just recently been a massacre... and he found a new goal in life. Though he is still a shady person who has some bad thoughts sometimes and might hurt people, he hasn't killed anyone yet. Actually, I still have only one character who has killed people (2) and that was Dove... the poor victim of everything. *Rolls eyes* And some might say Gahak is bad, but he has gone a bit soft lately. Besides, he doesn't even have a weapon though when he had that dung-fork he once threatened to shove it up one guy's ass... But mainly he's just all talk and no bite.

I have 1 blantanly Evil character who has for the most part succeded in his plans. I also have another who is more of a con artist, but she is only in it for the trill of the game, using one profit to fund another trick.

I REALLY don't like it when people go out of their way to create a purely evil or purely anything character, or even one modelled after a friend or a celebrity/book personality. I'm of the belief that every char should start off life as a blank slate, and let their actual life define them, not the previous efforts of their RPer. That's why i get irritated by all the troubled 20-year-old deaf/mutes or the aforementioned young pirates or the really emotionally needy ones. Nobody IRL starts off like that. It's okay if (like Dove) life events have made them that way, but acting like that right off the spawn isn't very appealing to me.

My truly evil character lies out of her teeth just to save her own skin. And she didn't start out evil, she just became that way. I am having a lot of fun playing her.

I went through a phase of testing out being evil, and I found it to be a frustrating experience. It's hard to accurately RP an all out evil character and have them live long. I feel like there are too many sneaky types who feign goodness just to get equipped enough to kill off a town. I feel a person who does that would have to be a sociopath in the first place, and therefore shouldn't be able to play nice with people for the first 15 years of their lives... So, I don't do straight evil.

Although, I DO have several incredibly military/absolute order minded types. And those I do have a lot of fun playing. There's one character who I intend to become a sort of inquisitor type... which would allow me to do "evil" things in the name of goodness.

yahsmina started off a blank slate, in fact didnt go totally evil and nuts until right before jack showed up. lol Calico jack made her insane. by the same token, Jackie was there when yahsi started going nuts, experienced some of the same stuff, and is still a very sane mostly good person. go figure. they are actually 2 sides of the same coin, i play them that way.

i just gave away a secret about jackie, well shyt.
