Hmmm.

13 male and 1 female. It appeared that spawning woman was very bad idea. I couldn't RP her properly :(

Waaaait? 13+1=... I have 14 characters? :O I thought I have just 12.

15 females and 6 males in all my cantr life. I used to have 50%-50% but I discovered that my males were all not-so-male (my more male-ish char was a woman... -.- ) and very similar, and that I play more easyly the females...

I don't really stick to traditional gender roles - many of my male characters have worn skirts and flowers in their hair whilst some of my female characters have been quite masculine. In real life, I guess I'm more of a neutral person leaning towards masculine as I am male.

I decided to look at my characters and give them ratings (I actually didn't mean to create the last few, as I wanted to keep the numbers low, but I did) -

(I'm mainly adding sexuality because whilst it doesn't have any effect on how masculine/feminine people are in general, it is often associated with it).

1 - Female, lesbian, feminine
2 - Male, bisexual, neutral/masculine-leaning
3 - Male, bisexual, masculine
4 - Male, unsure, neutral/slightly masculine-leaning
5 - Male, straight, neutral
6 - Male, bisexual, slightly masculine
7 - Male, straight, masculine
8 - Male, straight, masculine
9 - Female, bisexual, very feminine
10 - Male, straight, masculine
11 - Male, straight, masculine
12 - Male, unsure, slightly masculine
13 - Male, straight, masculine

I might make a feminine male character next, if I do make another one.

Oldest to youngest. I should have picked a better word than ranked.

All my males are hetero. One of my females is bi. The rest of my females are either bi-curious or completely asexual.

I don't believe in sex in a society simulator game. All of mine are asexual.

But sex is a major part of society. If we were simulating a sex-less society, then everyone should be the same gender.

Cantr, where everyone is androgynous and lacks genitals of any kind.

Sex is a major part of OUR society. In Cantr sex has no formal role or function, other than every character having a gender. Everything else is just roleplay/fantasy, driven by RL influences (could be called a CRB?!?). Maybe a substitute for the overall lack of conflict in the game...

If sex has no function im Cantr, then what is the purpose of having genders in the game at all?

I had a character that believed males and females were two distinct species both distinguished from the rest of the animals by their ability to speak and build things. He was shocked at his first witnessed display of heterosexual affection, and essentially considered it to be a form of bestiality.

Having said that, I think I have played pretty close to 50/50 with most being asexual or with latent sexualities.

Agreed, that is an awesome idea. How did life turn out for him with all the rampant heterosexuality in Cantr?

Where would the nymphomaniacs go, though?
Even worse: what would they substitute for sexual pleasure in a game where the characters lack genitalia?
....I'm not sure I want to know the answer to that question.

He ended up a hermit sitting in one of the forests on Burgeo where he could just hunt and collect firewood and coconuts in peace. Such was the life of Guy.
