It isn't. Ambiguity in Latin has been used and abused over time.

Eg. The famous oracle's sentence : ibis redibis non morieris in bello, depending on how it is pronounced it could mean "you will go, you will come back and you will not die in war" or " you will go, you will not come back, you will die in war"
