Oh, I'm definitely interested in this thread.

Doug R. wrote:T&T is defunct. The two remaining employees (one in Blojt forest east, the other in Mirovash), don't communicate and have essentially claimed the company's assets in those locations for themselves. Speaking personally, I never understood how T&T lasted as long as it did. I felt it's prices were ridiculous. Did they actually ever sell any vehicles to anyone? Just wondering.

You're right about T&T. My character is probably one of those two employees you're talking about, but he's also one of the town leaders. He might make a visit to Mirovash sometime..
I had another character (Adam) who bought a few good vehicles from T&T. He took advantage of the fact that he had a coal drill and lots of iron, and their rate for iron was 15g per credit.
On 2911, Stone Knight Hans Windfall and a couple of others dragged Rall and a T&T employee named Draymar into a room and left them to starve. The only reason Hans gave was that he had information that Rall was plotting against him. I have no idea what he was talking about, so shame on that player for bad RP.

That's 18 days after my character Adam the Wanderer, the councilor of Blojt Forest (east) along with Hans, was dragged by Hans and a new accomplice into a locked room, then killed by the accomplice before Hans got a chance to see the, I'd say, quite convincing notes I wrote for him, since that character was pretty much as innocent as it gets. He was one of those "kill the old" because we'll be much more successful without them. I still don't quite understand why he went insane; we led that town for probably decades, and my character much longer than him. Apparently him and the accomplice died soon after. The accomplice told my character, however, that Hans was wavering in his decision; that's why she didn't want him to see the notes.

CantrFreak wrote:Makior MacGregor was a very old MacGregor and competed with Nick towards the end at becoming the most influential MacGregor.

As you may or may not know, my character was Josh Mathias. Makior seemed more reasonable to me. Of course, I liked him more than Nick, since I liked pretty much anyone more. It's sad to hear that he was killed.

What I'm very curious about is, what's going on around the Krif Hills North/Zhift Hills South/Mulof North area? My character Josh Mathias led Zhift Hills South and Brandy Campbell led Mulof North, and I no longer know what's going on there, though I heard that the Macgregors left. Perhaps the Klash army is still around? Fugaza?

One more thing, did anyone know Brian Treblig? He was my favorite character, a note collector and explorer. His death was so horrible..

Carina Faux? Ooh, you knew Makior in his younger days definitively. It killed him to learn you were dead, even though they didn't really interact too much. (EDIT: Ha, I mistook Carina for another character. So I dunno who Carina is now :p) I don't remember who Caillou is though, a leader I think. The name is familiar.

&& as for the Mulof North Zhift thing. Ah, the Klash were shortly wiped out. The MacGregors just participated in the rescue operation since the main fighting was done before they arrived. Another army did come in and take power a few decades later however. They were ruthless and were of a bad sort. They were -very- strong when compared to a lot of other factions. The MacGregor's had no choice but to ally with them. Makior wanted them killed actually. Nick liked them since they were powerful. Or something like that.

Nick and Makior had some of the best political intrigue and differing viewpoints I've ever seen. The MacGregors had several traditions and beliefs that only a few of the elite MacGregors really were familiar with. For example, the MacGregor's believed themselves to be protectors of the mountains on the Treefeather due to their being an absence of the law and regularly made excursions and patrols. Several times Makior discovered old, forgotten MacGregor monuments, lost notes, and outposts in the mountains so it only reinforced their sense of possession. They also believed that the Krif-Djorf region historically belonged to them as well. Makior actually came upon a village in the mountains and upon further examination, realized that the buildings and vehicles used to belong to the MacGregors so they quickly became a part of the Clan.

Nick wanted outright conquering of the lands the MacGregor saw that was historically theirs and was more direct. Makior believed the MacGregor banner would bring salvation to the weaker villages that were declining (such as Krif, Djorf) and was preparing to move to assimilating them peacefully (by training their residents in the Ways of the Clan and giving them a sense of belonging), but unfortunately Nick ended up killing him over personal disputes. It was about the only time I saw realistic politics in Cantr. None of the empire-building stuff but actual, doable things.

But ahh, Josh Matthias? Another familiar name. I can't remember who it was though. xD

I remember Ben very well. My character never did really get the whole Order thing though, but was happy to let it do its thing as it tended to mean a de facto militia was around...

I'm sad to hear Kwor was lost in the end. Hope Christine had luck wherever she went.

I had a lot of interest in Kwor, as one of my oldest & favourite characters, Suzie, was based there. She gave her life early on in the war though, so I never did really find out what happened.

For a long time Kwor was the perfect size for me as a player - busy enough to be interesting, but quiet enough that I my characters could do meaningful things with the time I had available.

Her death is probably the character death which hit me hardest, and her loss was the start of me dropping away. In the end, she was the main reason I was logging into Cantr, and any new characters after her I just didn't get into.
Whoever you vote for.

*Mathias. It could be familiar OOC too.

Josh was angry about Snape's death, particularly at Nick Macgregor. He tried to gather an army to kill Nick. Ben Klash decided to get on the Macgregors' good side, so he locked Josh up, allowing the Macgregors to capture him and then kill him. Starting from when Snape was imprisoned until Josh's death, he was probably my most vocal character. He gave quite a few speeches.

Carina did know Makior, he drove her home to Drojf once from KHN. She dated Angus for about three years, which not many people knew, after it ended anyway. And her and Darlina never got along at first. Not until they shared a mutual hatred for Alyssa Moore. She had a tendency to forge letters and falsify documents and send them to the MacGregors to see to-that people she didn't like were taken care of LOL. She started as a simple idea--She spawned believing she had special god like capablilities in the spiritual sense and when she learned of all the disrupt between Drojf and KHN she made it her mission to unite them in friendship--Thusly she also once went to KHN and invited Gregor to Drojf against Jorams wishes, to attend the first festival held there. She was councilor in Drojf twice, but I can't say that she ever lived up to other councilors or that she accomplished much.

Caillou was a councilor in Krif as well. (Different times than Carina a councilor of Drojf of course) Caillou hated the Union, hated his own government, hated every government in his surrounding and intended to take over all of them from beginning. He spent his life in jail, really. First time ever was for hitting Silverfoot when she tried to tell him that a bone club wouldn't do any significant damage to a person--So he clubbed her and for a nice chunk of her health too! lol (I never thought it was going to do that amount of damage but when it did it was freaking hilarious) He got out of jail after that. Councilors died. Silverfoot took a seat on council. Died. Eventually, pretty much everyone who once knew Caillou at home, died. Somehow he managed to get elected into the council and he killed his fellow councilor. Of course, he got caught because some stupid idiot took a note to Drojf and, who comes along but a Ranger who happened to be played by the same person that played the Councilor that Caillou had just killed. So the Union put him on trial and gave him a 10 year sentence considering circumstances for which he said he killed and and another five years of probation. In the mean time Dolly Madison who used to be his good friend went up to Krif and took it over, and caused a ruckus for the rest of the Union and they didn't want her as leader there anymore. LOL They all wanted to put Caillou back to Krif. But it never happened during his living days. He also once hit Gregor MacGregor when Gregor passed through, told him to get the fuck out of Krif and never come back. Well Gregor called for him to step down from council position or he'd declare war on Krif or something. In any case, Gregor never got that. I think he died before it could go through. He ended up apologising to Angus later, and they instead talked about taking over the region. Nothing ever happened with that either.

I did know Josh Mathias--I played Gabriel Krunk. Seko and I tried to save him. But us two were no match for those "mackies" And the Klash's eventually got what they deserved if I remember right.

Did they? I don't specifically recall this. It might have been with Angus's successors?

Gabriel! I do regret Josh being so revengeful (and also stepping off his motorcycle ), since I don't like revenge myself, but it was an interesting time. Josh justified his revenge on the fact that Nick was probably going to unjustly hurt other people in the future also.
I played Brandy Campbell. Seko starved himself to death not long after your death, from what I remember. I'm very grateful for how Seko and Gabriel saved Brandy 2 or 3 times. :) Brandy stayed for many years after your death, but eventually a new turmoil came up, and Brandy was killed for yet again some random attack, and without you guys to drag her to safety. :P Indeed Brandy was too sleepy. They knew it would probably be bad if she woke up, so they tried hard to kill her before that happened.

Ah, good to know what's been happening with the MacGregors. I've been wondering :D I was Ruby..before she kinda slowly faded and died.

I read this and have been thinking about it for a while. And it wasn't with a successor. It was definitely Angus. Caillou apologized, personally, in KHN. And this is where we had the discussion. No "plots" or "plans" were taken from the meet, but there were hints suggested at what should and could be done to the uselessness of certain areas/people. Now whether that was smoke being blown up Caillous ass is another story entirely. But then I think a little bit more, and I also remember now exactly what it was-------------It wasn't about taking over the region. This was when Caillou suggested he would take over Krif for himself and that Krif would become a MacGregor State. Now do you remember?

I'd defer to your memory on this. It surely wouldn't have been against what Angus's virtues or wishes. Whatever became of KDS now?

The Djorf region was wiped out entirely by Yugo. There's finally some signs of settlement there again. Kriff was wiped out by the MacGregors and the Zhift army. Haven't been there in forever, so I can't say what's going on now. Seatown forest doesn't appear to have any residents anymore, and reports out Seatown are that it went to hell after Sabine died. Seatown Hills was wiped out by Yugo. Seatown Gardens is still alive, but it seems the leader there isn't waking up.

That pretty much sums up how Seatown Gardens has been most of my cantr career.

LOTS of drama just before Makior died, which means just before the MacGregors left. I think Nick was preparing to move to take over a lot of the region and already had a foothold in Djorf while Makior was helping to rebuild Krif since a few newspawns had taken up residence there (later planning to offer a chance for Krif to join the MacGregors). It's sad, but somehow a fitting ending. The region had been VERY nationalistic, warlike, etc. with lots of old traditions and grudges. I love how the decline of the Union prompted the MacGregors to try and bring a different kind of unification to the land.

But ah, Krif was actually wiped out by a Krifian that went rogue while the MacGregors and Zhiftian had captured the place. We weren't intending to kill them all really. Or at least, that's what Makior had been told and I don't think there had been a reason to lie to him.

The competing visions of "True Unity" for the Union from the Mid-North/Rangers, weakened by internal strife, pirates and politics (incl. the lack of a role played by SF), and that developed by the MacGregors (envisioned by Gregor, and discipled by Angus and successors) are definitely some of the most fascinating themes of the power struggle in that region. I'm glad to hear it was actually manifested.
