Splitting a project into several sub-projects is pretty much the opposite of what I'd like to see. It doesn't really make a difference if you have three projects or just one that uses all the materials and tools of the original projects, except that just one project is less annoying for the player. Noone keeps you from imagining cutting diamonds or refining gold, but having to initiate three individual projects makes the process just complicated.

I think having to imagine or rp refining gold and cutting diamonds a bit too far, as it's not something that exactly should be role played. Of course it might be the same as with arrows and bolts, people also imagine that and rp it. But I still think it's different.

It would be nice if others could give their opinion or to add something to this suggestion.

Personally I don't think its worth the hastle to implement a change. Gold/diamonds are only avaliable in a few select locations - generally far less than any other resource I can think of.

Yes, many older ones have gold crowns etc (and are also usually town leaders or something to that effect) but in most places the stuff is only used for things like radio wires/drills. To me this indicates that cantrians see it as too bothersome to do anything else with. (bothersomeness being one of the only things of real value in cantr)

I'd say the value of these things is fine how it is.

Maybe narrowing down the number of diamond cuts to ones that are entirely different from each other and stand out the most. Gold, Imo is fine the way it is.
Also, making these only available to clothing and not sabers or whatever would reduce the amount of problems too...

Isn't that it's not used in many towns because there is not many being traded? And not because of the value but because of traders just not reaching everywhere with gold and diamonds and silver and more.

And it's not just because of the value to be increased it's also to make the process more interesting.
