What exactly is the argument here? The dude wants to have ponds so people can have food where there isn't any. You think cantr is in the stone age since people go around picking up food everywhere, I disageee.

Granted, food is abundant is some places in cantr, but there are other places where it's incredibly difficult to come by and people have to either transport it there, or make their own.

I think ponds are a good idea, I like many ideas people come up with to develop towns.

I believe big towns are a great thing in cantr and the Cantr staff need to focus more on how to make towns with the resources safer, able to support a larger population with food, and also figure out a way to make the outside more quiet so the endless rambling of 50 people doesn't discourage some from staying in the town.

I don't like this idea. Maybe, we should make everything makeable everywhere? Like the tea, which is about 100 times cheaper when grown in earthenware than gathered in original locations. Because now Cantr is going in that direction.

This idea makes it easier for people to survive though, if people spend less time worrying about food then they spend more time doing more interesting activities. I mean something like this might make the deserts and mountains a little more lively.

At locations without food, almost all of them have good resourses as coal, gold, silver, ruby, stone and lots of animals. I don't see why we should get food everywhere... Then the food only locations will be abandoned and lots of traders roleplay will be lost.

No longer many animals. At least in all locations my chars have been recently are only a few animals left from each type, also a lot of animals are gone from mountains.

I'm also not very fond of this idea. Like BZR said, it would reduce diversity and I don't really see the need for this. With a working animal system there is a foodsource in almost every town and even without animals you could easily import food (1 potato harvester can feed 40 people after all). Noone really has to "worry" about food in Cantr.

A cheap project? Notice that the amount variables were left empty? Also, time for the actual project wasn't mentioned. Besides to create a renewable resource such as fish the pond needs to be pretty big so as to provide adequate living space for healthy living. Otherwise they breed sickness and disease or do not reproduce at all. Therefore this needs to be expressed through somewhat large amounts of time and resources. Making it a limited resource is just not worth it.

Make certain limitations so that you can't make them everywhere and you can only have one. Such as not on moutains, the rock is too hard but at it's base.... No need to shoot this idea in the head... Idea's evolve.

Um I thought the animal system had a flaw...

And eating nothing but potatoes is what's killing Cantr's Rp. It almost seems as if a potato (not the smiley) should be the logo...

Well, just because the animals are not working properly right now we shouldn't start planning new features on the assumption that it will stay that way for the rest of eternity.

I think fish farming could be a good idea, but only with certain restrictions. As has been mentioned, it should be limited to certain area types. Also, fish should need to be fed. Of course there's no obvious choice for fish food in the game besides other fish, which would make the whole thing rather pointless.

An alternative would be to have net cages. Those would be logically limited to locations with access to the sea or a lake and the food problem would be solved since the fish could eat whatever drifts with the current.

You see a man in his thirties attack a man in his twenties with a steel sabre
Man in his twenties says: Hey what was that for?
Man in his thirties says: I want to feed you to the fish
Man in his twenties says: What are they like sharks?
Man in his thirties says: No just ordinary fish

xD

Fish eat insects. These normally thrive on water surfaces. Thats why if you have a pond in your garden you should have fish also, oterwise insects take over.

I think you can make something like this already to be used on a boat...

You add body of a man in his twenties to stone table.

You see: "Joe-Bob a man in his thirties add a body of a man in his twenties to chopping body up project".

You say: "*while hacking away at an arm* I hope they don't develop a taste for this stuff... End up jumping out at my neck.. eee *feels his throat while making a funny face unknowingly smearing blood*...
