If you want to understand the disease, start a doctor character, who writes down everything he/she can see about the disease, and try to find correlations ... but in-game please! :)

I've never really understood that aspect or the CR. I mean, so long as your charries dont all suddenly kow what you do, then it would be fine wouldn't it?
Plus, what stops a player with a 'doctor' charrie who works out the correlation from suddenly making all their charries know it?

It's not so much that it is forbidden to discuss these things on the forum, it is rather that this makes it very tempting to apply this knowledge in game and not to bother with the investigating doctor in game ... It's a nuanced difference, not a black-and-white thing ;)

So it IS true there's *some* reason the eating sickness occurs? As usually there would be, but if not implented in the game then it is just a waste of time and effort.

ugghh, you mean that damn eating sickness is still around? That was one of the things that made me finally give up on Cantr way way back, I tried to limit myself to just three characters but when two of them caught it almost immediately after spawning I just said the hell with it.

I've been thinking of playing again and was looking over the changes that had been made, I was hoping having this removed or at aleast balanced was one of them :(

oh yeah and hi again everybody...if I do start playing again I won't have very much time to spend on the forums so enjoy me while I'm here :)

well the eating sickness seems to have been reduced in it's commonness but it still sometimes it at the worst times where you have no choice but to die.
as for sneezing sickness, i am not sure if it is still as random as before but as long as there is a noticeable in game solution such as the often used, quaranteen, just make it noticeably effective please and have some sort of cause for them to start. being naked and suffering exposure prehaps? to my knowledge clothing to this day are still of a purly aesthetic value to denote wealth or status.

I'm pretty sure sneezing was just manually introduced and now spreads from being around other chars that are sneezing.

The eating sickness doesn't seem any less common to me, two of my most promising chars have it already. Now they'll probably die because they don't have a building or vehicle of their own to store food in yet. :(

I know what causes it but this is still the most random and fun-destroying thing in the entire game, it needs to be toned down if nothing else...at the very least can't we make resting awhile cure it instead of something completely obscure we're just supposed to guess at?

Just another hopeful vote for removing these things. They are everywhere ignored by characters. Sicknesses of far more varied and interesting kinds can be non-mechanically roleplayed, instead of being random annoyances as it is now.

If the transmission were more interesting or obvious (such as only around corpses, or a certain animal etc, or via whispering), and there were potential cures (such as certain herbs or foods, but the cure isnt on the wiki), they could enrich the role of healers researching etc in the game.

As they are they are just kinda pointless.
