The same as now. If someone lives in different time zone then he/she experience different part of the Cantr day. There could be also time zones in game (8 time zones - as 8 'hours' in the Cantr day)... and maybe when creating new character it would be possible to choose time zone, and character would be placed in random location in that time zone. Still in my opinion making nights can add interesting element to gameplay.

yeah if night and day where implemented i'd be doomed to wandering the night like a cantr vampire ad i doubt that you could have the time zone idea implememnted cause then they'd need to have 8 different area's for every language of the game diluting the player's between them

vampire or lone hermit where other lunatics from whole world will join you eventualy... and about zones, there could be less zones for some less used languages, maybe placed this way so European players would be fited too... (I live in Europe)

i live in australia so would be one of the less used time area's so i'd still be in the night anyway. plus some char's do RP night and day time anyway. one of my char's who was a town guard used to RP that when everyone else in town became active it was dawn so went off duty. there's no real advantage to the game making day and night

adventage could be for chars who are thiefes or other creatures who want to take actions under night cover. I suppose that would be hard to be implemented... so, maybe in Cantr 2.0??

How can I say this with the greatest of care.

While English isn't the best language in the world it is everywhere.

Most other languages are single time zone languages at least for the majority. French has two main ones.

And even if you include people who play in non-native languages not all of the 8 would have to be used.

And yes many languages are parts of several time zone like Russian but I would guess the majority of Russian players are from the same couple of time zones.

On the other hand even on the east coast time zone here some people play mainly early in the morning, during the day, in the evening, at night, or after the bars close. (Granted I most of those and my ealy characters were more like locus who never slept and pestered around the clock). Oh and some people or random hours and even random days.

So if there were time zones I think you could just say that some of your characters were morning people and others were night owls.

I am happy with the no day/night cycle right now too.

I'm not sure time zones would work, anyway. Haven't you noticed that the Cantr time - real time relationship keeps slipping whenever the game is stopped? Cantr "midnight" used to be around 3AM in New York, but now it seems to be closer to 6.

Anyone ever been on a lake and sailed towards a lighthouse, only to run into the shore?

Can we make it so you don't see lighthouses that are not on the coast of the body of water you are on?

Or, in other words, a buoy.
EDIT: No, wait, I didn't read that correctly.

to your question yes quite often here as we have many lake system's right behind the coast and the lighthouse are on the entrance from the sea to them. yiou get lost on the lake you head for the light house cause you'll find land again fast enough and hopefully recognise where you are. if you've been lost a few times on the same lake you get used to seeing tat same bit of land
