Dont worry Marol, I'll take care of this...Once again: it's impossible to define criteria of notes usability - even empty notes are not useless to some players.

Seriously, anything that's in a library probably hasn't been read in a while, but still contains important history.

My char tries to write his poems on editable notes to save the trees. Oooops...I gave away too much already! I'm outta here.

Old notes are very valuable.... even the ones that are copies of copies of copies...

If you want to drop a notice in a town and have it appear at the top of the Objects pile... use an old note and re-purpose it with your message.

There might be notes left by a luckless gorup of sailors on a now deserted island. Though not in use, they might one day be found...

The historical records in notes is one of the great things about Cantr. Unless note handling is crippling the server (and it hasn't been suggested that's the case yet) there's just no need to burn notes.

If a ruler wants to do the whole book-burning thing and re-write history. It's not that difficult just to lock notes away.

That is exactly my concern. Characters are purged after 6 weeks of inactivity. That serves an in-game purpose, but it also keeps the character database a reasonable size. Notes (1) have been acknowledged above as so numerous that the staff can't monitor new ones and (2) never go away. I imagine that, sooner or later, the notes database will become unwieldy because of its size. It would be good to plan for that day before it arrives.

That's entirely wrong. We don't purge characters, we just kill them, but we don't delete any info. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see you characters history. And we kill them after 3 weeks, not 6.
