Yes, i believe the Norman invasion and the fight for the English throne was happening at senlac at 1066. With William of Normandy trying to claim the throne of England, or better known as the Battle of Hastings. Oh wait, thats real but could be a for- warning for cantr.

In those future generations in Cantr maybe we will see the battle of the english islands from the Polish if anything..It's an invasion just waiting to happen in history. Trust me the polish are a major civilisation, very organised, very industrialised and their smelters are never cold. Plus they sail great and draw the best maps to my knowledge so far that i have seen ingame. They spread out faster on islands that were previously empty of civilisation for over two decades that my char has witnessed with ever increasing speed and population. They are already sailing and visiting the english isle's more and more. It's going to make for interesting future times, i would forget your sky scrapers and start learning your slownick notes. *uśmiecha się *

already working on it...

Things wouldn't be going so well for the polish if one of my charries had his way, he thinks that the only civilized language is the one that he speaks, and want to colonize the polishlands to bring civilization to them...

I meant in cantr. I know what happened in England in 1066. Other things that happened that year: Vesuvius erupted again, and Halley's Comet made a flyby.

I can't help it, as soon as i see 1066 it just makes me think of having it drummed into my brain from history lessons as school and that really annoying song also, Remember Remember the fith of november due to Guy ruddy Fawks, it's like a brain washing from an early age. Also Naughty Elephants Squirt Water for the directions remembering in degree's. Now i'm stuck with them just imprinted there. And i can't help but say Naughty for North while planning directions, Blahh..brainwashed. I won't even go into the tie the knot song, it's just too much to say.

But as for ingame i'm not too sure, mine started just after that date. But according to the MacGregor library. Lord Gregor MacGregor was happy leading the Clan and had good relations at that point with Joram traske in Droif, because there is a note there to him with that exact date on it speaking of a young Carina Faux and Elisa as young droiflings and that he was sending a fellow named Jake to come visit at the castle. There is a Rangers tale written to the date of redux date1070 so maybe it was a quite year for that part of the Cantr world. The mid west union must have come about not long after that date because these things take a little time to get together to be written up and the date of that well within a hundred days following anyway at least. So perhaps there was peace at those times for a short while in those lands.

The Blackrocks were in their heyday and strong at that point, but it's hard to pinpoint events in dates as they were happening. As much as there are stories written of the events of what they were up to, most forget to add a date to their work while writing history ingame. So maybe thats a lesson to all that bother to write it, to add a date. It doesn't sound important when it's happening, but for the people in the future to work it out it needs adding.

Stone Knight history is just as hard to figure out as well due to the fact not many added dates at those points in time while writing of events.

Captain Thomas Hobbes had just celebrated his 42nd bithday and was sailing (rounding the bend at 320, after running around)in his exact words on 1066 near docking to Krif. Which gives names of Jasper and whoever happened to be there at that point intime from his writings.

So the only ones that should know more indepth of other areas are those that were actually playing at that time ingame, and there are a few of you dinosaurs left here no doubt to add the gaps as to what was happening for the rest of the world.

Ahh well i can't please you all here two above happened to be his, but they are major writings that show dates here that the question is about the date 1066 and what was happening in Cantr. But whatever rocks your boat and gives you somthing to gripe about i can't help that.

I take it none of your chars were up to anything worth mentioning them maybe then Surly because instead of adding to the thread you just moaned. And i wonder why i have such a little post count, could that be that i am often put off by petty moaners here to the cantr forums that don't want to add anything constructive to shed a little light on the history that says anything about Cantr. But just want to gripe about others, because they were mentioned purely because they added a ruddy date to their works. Blah blah ruddy blah.

I believe I was answering a question on what was happening ingame actually on 1066, then i had to act like him in response. But i'm glad you noticed but then decided to jump on the bandwagon yourself. So it just shows what one lousy comment can lead to.
So on that note i'll be doing the same right now to say i'll be making this my last post ever here on the forums So take this as a FAREWELL and GOODBYE from the Player Makebeliever. Who actually had a liking for wanting to know what was once happening in a game in previous times and went to the trouble of searching through old notes to try to add something for that date.

I for one appreciated the synopsis. Don't let Surly get you down. He is a bit, well, surly.

I think Silas might have written the papaya song around 1066. I should have referenced it once a month on the forums so that people would know that I wrote something in game too.

Isn't 1066 about the time that object decay started?

I know what you mean, it has been those people that put me off posting in the forums for a few years. I am tempted to post a suggestion to get rid of that damn 'rolling eyes' emoticon.

You could be right. I do think that is was after the 1000's but not too much after.
