A substantial majority supports the skills; a minority is against or has comments like "yes, but different".
I have long since accepted that a large number of people like having skills... but most of that number aren't quite so keen on skills as they are at the moment.

I personally don't think its the system... more the way its set up.
Jos Elkink wrote:Perhaps a Webzine article on the poll would be in order. Anyone here who knows the forum debate on skills quite well and could collaborate with me to write a Webzine article?
Isn't it weird that just yesterday I was thinking of doing a webzine article on the basis of a poll? Except that was to do with Cantrs parallels with real historical circumstance...

Anyways, maybe a webzine article would be good... I think I'd qualify as knowing the forum debate quite well, no? :P

Nice to know my bitter ranting was appreciated...

Ok, Surly, if you want, we'll write that article together. Shall I start a setup and you'll continue on it?

Yeah, that's fine. :)

On another note... New Shambon is Shambon, right?

I had a character that almost took New Shambon out in the past
But he decided he could use the place and it's people better if they stayed put and alive.

Were you that Baron guy? I always thought the name was a little suspicious...

Nope, no baron guy here...
Just a sailor/adventurer that like to swing his two swords around.

Oh, I think I met him several decades ago. I also think I ended up stealing your axe

I played Michelle Stewart ... lived for a very long time in Shambon. Does anyone remember her at all? :)

Was she there when they unlocked the Lake Village car? The name sort of sounds familiar...

Michelle... sounds familiar... I vaguely remember there was a woman and a guy there that were fairly active... The guy (Mr. ..?) was in his house a lot because he was trying to complete some projects... and the woman was in the guard (of herself and maybe one other person?) at that time. My char's name was Sandra Briere, I think. I'm pretty sure that was the one there.

Mine definitely wasn't a guard :) ... She had a shop, kind of, in Shambon, I believe, and I think she built the lighthouse. And sometimes she was in Quillanoi for a while where she lived for a brief period as an inn manager.

She wasn't a very exciting char ;) ...
