It could still be rp'd...

Agreed, if someone just leaves right after spawning without rp or saying anything. It always makes me think that it might be that either the player doesn't like that town because of another char of his/her being treated badly there. Or the player wanting that char in another town nearby because he/she likes it there because of other chars of his/hers.

Still OOC/CRB reasons.

Right to both Arenti and Echoman.

And a third option.....they know where they want their charrie in order to help out some in-game situation.
Major CRB.

If you don't intend to keep / rp / play the character why bother. I don't see it as a CRB at all. OOC reasons definitely, but not a CRB. And I'm sorry but when I spawn 5 characters in the same area on the same island within the same timeframe....I'm not going to be "oh whoa is me I want to go die" and send them off. That's annoying and stupid.

I've spawned characters in places I've recently visited with other characters but I've never let a newspawn die because I didn't like where they spawned. I might have preconceptions about a place but if my newspawn is treated well or at least receives attention from one person, they're likely to stay. Places might change very quickly or they might seem different from a new perspective. The fastest I've left a place of spawning was I think a few minutes, which came after reading the laws, interacting with another newspawn and agreeing that the laws were oppressive, so when he decided to leave, my character instantly decided it would be more fun to travel with a like-minded individual than to get stuck in a place that charges you for most basic things. Another one earlier left rather shortly after spawning because people were ignoring him but that one may have stayed a few days. I think players are more likely to send their characters traveling if either the area is new to them and they want to explore or if they know there's some particular town nearby they wanted to live in.

If you spawn on the wrong region, you can always go sailing (unless you're somewhere in the middle of Fu or something) so going idle and starving yourself to death only seems to display laziness. Your characters should be different enough that even if they were put in the same environment as one of your other characters, they would see it from a different perspective. If you can't do that then you have too many characters in the first place. But if your character has a personality, it shouldn't be impossible to react in some way to the environment they're spawned into since it's new to THEM even if it was familiar to you. Just running off without a word shows a lack of imagination.

Even if you spawn a few chars in the same town, nothing prevents your char from saying hello and his/her name. And to get some food, and after a few days or just one say you want to travel.

This requires much time to either build a boat or work for one. If the point is for some reason (and there are good reasons for NOT wanting so many in the same area) to NOT have so many in the same area or too close together, waiting around to do either keeps them around way too long, too close. I'm just saying, you don't know the players reasoning for why they sent their characters off and while you might think one way, another may have a damn good reason for doing what they have done. I do agree however that the hitting and going off to kill your character because he's not a good enough fighter or not strong enough or not liing the area you're in is stupid.

I have one character on Fu who was lucky enough to spawn on the coast in a place where reed is readily available. And what do I do with it (sorry, not going to reveal the gender; this is a char I'd like to keep private from certain people)? I send them with two others inland to look for wood and the like. Guess what happens? A newspawn in the mountains who leaves after realising there's no food, but it was in such a great manner that my char decided to chase after the newspawn to persuade the newspawn back. Then we make it to the forest where we are promptly attacked for no reason, and it's a year's travel back to the coast, but that ain't happening anytime soon, as of four days ago.

If the newspawn hadn't've said anything at all, I would've just let it go off to do whatever it wanted. But it said something, so we had compassion on it and allowed it to join us. I totally understand its reason for leaving.

Chars attacking other chars for no reason, on the other hand, bothers the crap out of me. We did nothing to you, so why do you try to kill us?

A char that has the same name as one of your chars... Younger than your char. Not a common combination of the name and surname, either so highly suspicious!

You arrive in [Place].
You can see # objects on the ground, # of these are notes.
And # buildings or vehicles around you.
There are 3 other people in the location.
You see [a man in his twenties] arrive in [Place].
a man in his thirties says: "Get lost from here."
[a man in his twenties] says: "Excuse me?"
a man in his thirties says: "This is not your place."
You say: "Care to explain that?"
a man in his thirties skillfully attacks you using a composite-recurve bow. You lose 0 percent strength. You efficiently saved 20 percent damage using your wooden shield.
You see a man in his thirties skillfully hurt [a man in his twenties] using a composite-recurve bow.
You see a man in his thirties skillfully hurt [a man in his twenties] using a composite-recurve bow.
You see a man in his thirties skillfully hurt [a man in his twenties] using a composite-recurve bow.

Pretty much all of it is paraphrased.

Does that make any sense to you?

Looks like he explained himself pretty well. Doesn't like visitors. I've got a char headed down that route in life of being suspicious and unfriendly toward strange people in town.

Just because you don't know their reasons, doesn't mean they don't have any.
