Air Supply are really good pity music.

But Haleluia is the one that makes me cry, the pain in that song.

Yeah, I was going to say Hallelujah is good, but I don't think I can use that because that is MY song about what I think real love is. Pain, sweet pain, humility, and those lines:

"She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah"

That says more about love in fewer words than I think I have ever seen elsewhere. I've heard the song a hundred times and it still breaks my heart every time I hear it.

The Cure - Pictures of You

Maybe more of a love lost than unrequited but some of the lyrics fit that as well. It's certainly sent me into melancholy and/or reminiscence (melancholic reminiscence?) many a time.

Thank you SumBum. :) I know unrequited isn't quite the right way to describe what I'm trying to find, but I couldn't think of a better way of saying it. I guess something more along the lines of someone who lost their chance at having their love because they could never quite bring themselves to risk saying the actual words to that person.

I know there are songs out there like that, but I can't recall any of them myself.

That reminded me to this line from What if I Said by Anita Cochrand and Steve Wariner:

What if I told you?
What if I said that I love you?
How would you feel?
What would you think?
What would we do?
Do we dare to cross that line,
Between your heart and mine?

I can't be your friend anymore - Rushlow

Yes, yes, YES. I think that nails it perfectly. Thank you so much! I'm going to be stealing that for something in the near future.

I also liked that third one, and just found something myself from "Dirty Little Secret" by Thievery Corporation but the first you posted is still the best:

If I had the chance
Love, I would not hesitate
To tell you all the things I never said before
Don't tell me it's too late

It took me months to put this song apart for my mind.

Thank you, RedQueen... ¬¬

I dreamed about my father today, which is always disturbing and awkward for me, so I know that for the whole day this two songs he used to sang me will be inevitably stucked in my mind.

I liked this comment on it:
"Don't you just love songs that don't require lyrics to make you cry?"

"Fate loves the fearless" - James Russell Lowell
