Yeah the lack of burdensome graphics make this game easily loadable on my itouch as well. I play Cantr when I work out.

Few rookies I got to know took a look at tutorials in the Wiki or went into the Forums. Usually we have to warn them ooc'ly in-game, what is ending up in a mass of ooc's making things a little more confuse.

I think this could be a separate suggestion, but since it envolves support to new player I think it fits this discussion. Someone could consider adding a new section in the game especially dedicated to support and would-be ooc notes and warns? Like a events page/chat parallel to the game where players online could answer doubts of the rookies. :)

Also, a quickly introductory page after the first login talking about mechanics and general politness inside the game would reduce shocks between old players and new ones that result in desistance.

Support. That would be nice for new players and yes cantr works on phones other than smartphones. I am currently whriting on my k550 sony ericsson on the forums and cantr when I have nothing else to do. The only bad thing is you can't copy a piece of text as a complicated name.
(Now on the phone) :D

The game works wonderfully on my phone, (Helio Ocean) and displays perfectly. I am using the Opera mini browser though, so I could not say how well it works on the "default" web browser.

I proposed something like this a long time ago, but people thought it was too weird. Do a search on "spawnsacs"

Oh I love that suggestion! It would be nice to have this as well: you click on them, there's a button "Leave an OoC note" and then it shows up in "Messages" on their player page.

We already have that, it's called 'The Forum'.

While logged in to Cantr, you should do nothing more than play the game.

So we are supposed to shout "___ PLEASE STOP ___ BECAUSE ITS ___" on the forum instead of doing it in-game now?

And there are a lot of people not even signed up on the forum.

I think it would be a good idea to use the Cantr message system. Right now, only mods can message people on their player page. It would be a good idea if everyone could use the system, then instead of having to make an OOC statement to a newspawn in game, you could simply message them instead.
Message From: player

Hey just so you know, heres what you did wrong, this is how we do it in game ;)."

But they would contain the player's real name (unless they gave a false name while registering) and how would people know who to message if it's not revealed who plays what character? It should be possible to send a message from the player of X to the player of Y, and the identity should remain a secret. And the messages should be monitored to assure it's not used for saying "Hey, my character was locked up in place Z, come help me out, okay?"

I've lost a couple of characters killed by pirates recently. Dragged into a locked cabin and executed. It is part of the game I know and they may have just dropped dead anyway but after spending a couple of years developing them (they had become my favourites) I struggle in finding the enthusiasm to replace them and start again. To keep the game cycling it can only be done with new blood, most of us old timers have a play by date, so it is essential to find a way to promote voting and get CANTR into a prominent position in the charts.

Play Cantr, the game where you can get slaughtered like an NPC by fellow PCs. No resurrection!

You can't join Club Cantr, but you can wield claymores.

There aren't magic potions, but there is popcorn.

We don't have NPCs, we have newspawns. ;)

That's more or less what I meant. You have to select a character in game to send the message to. And I suppose we could create a new dept. or a branch of the communications dept. specifically for monitoring messages.
