I got ID'd recently and I'm 28. Maybe it was the pink jacket I was wearing.

Jail is boring.

On this weekend when so many are enjoying a cookout and day off, I just wanted to say thank you to the families and close friends of anyone who has served... my country mostly since its where I live, but any who show the courage to lay face down dying in a mud puddle while getting paid next to nothing for this service. To those who paid the ultimate price, I extend my biyearly posthumous gratitude.

Your courage and dedication is not forgotten and the blood shed is not forgotten.

Old soldiers never die... young ones do.

Happy Memorial Day to all my friends and family.

Happy Memorial Day to all my friends and family.

I spent my morning honoring the veterans in the only way that I really can. They had me play taps at nine different graveyards and memorials about the area. It was an amazing experience. So, I second that thank you. Happy memorial day, everyone!

My three day backpacking trek ended a day and a half early due to a sprained knee. Nothing like hobbling over ten miles of sharp rocks to reach the nearest town. They say the part of the Appalachian trail in Pennsylvania is the worst part. Good thing I'm aiming to get it out of the way while I'm still young, though, at this rate, there won't be many working parts left on me to do the rest of it. The man in his seventies I saw with trekking poles gave me hope for the future, though. He was recovering from knee surgery and going about as slow as I was. Guess I just have to reduce future mileage expectations and wear knee braces.

I wonder if Uma Therman's character in Pulp Fiction theory applies to Cantr. She proposed that the minute you get up to use the restroom at a restaurant, your food you've been waiting for arrives. I wonder if in Cantr the minute you decide to give up on your sleepy townfolk and move on to something else, they wake. :)

Well, I went to my first comic con, and it was pretty darn fun. I have to say I'm excited to see that's it's not just a guy thing any longer. So many female comic/tv show protagonists have brought out the ladies en mass, and while there were some that made ill-suited costume choices, most where fine. Got to meet Adam Baldwin but was too shy to get into Jewel Staite's line; her smile just melts me and I didn't want to seem like a smitten idiot. I was also amazed at how shy Summer Glau was. I figured after talking with so many fans at these events, it would open someone up, but on the Firefly panel, she barely talked unless prompted by the other cast members. Also got to see Ray Park (Darth Maul) dueling with some random Jedi geek, which was pretty cool. That guy can probably die happy now.

My visit home was amazing! My family gave me the greatest gift of all... a sore throat, fever body ache and a cough... the throat is better but Doc says it will get worse before better and it is viral so antibiotics are of no value....

Honestly.. The hugs and love were all worth it!!!

Viral infections are the gift that keeps on giving.

Yeah, only a few characters have been awake since I came home from work.
