I find it odd that Surly's list in many ways resembles mine. I suppose it's time for an update of my surviving ones:
1. Businessman, recently engaged, eyeing a government position. 50s.
2. 50-year-old woman, currently about to embark with an expedition to a new land.
3. Upper-rank Ranger, waiting for someone to wake up so he can talk to him. 50s
4. Reformed thief, murderer, pillager, and general ne'er-do-well, moved to a far distant city where he lives comfortably but quietly. Doesn't hide from his past, just doesn't particularly want it catching up with him. 50s.
5. Sea Captain, spends his life sailing around the continent he was spawned on. Returns eventually to his homeland, but can't spend more than about a half-a-year there before memories of his dead friends drive him to sea again. Never got over his lost love, who died 27 years ago and still haunts his dreams. 50s.
6. Older member of a large organization, currently exploring far from home. Slowly spreading his own individual creation story. Not preaching, just passing it along. Collects bits of valuable resources. 50s.
7. Formerly among the most important people on his island, now deposed and living a quiet life. He almost never speaks, so people assume he is sleeping. Gradually coming to terms with the fact that his days of relevence in the area are over. 50s.
8. One of the higher-ranking members of a certain clan, rather brusque. Doesn't like whiners. Wields a diamond-studded sword, but prefers the crossbow. 50s.
9. Reasonably well-equipped, she is content with her life as a nobody in a medium-sized town. Somehow came into possession of a large amount of wood without having visited a forest (I think someone died and she picked it up and nobody else wanted it), she's been able to build a bow and trade for an iron shield. late 20s.
10. Young, brash, ready for adventure. He wandered across his island before becoming a soldier in a growing civilization.
I'd be interested in seeing who knows who. No names please (don't tell me yours, and don't guess mine out loud--PMs are fine).
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.
