Out of my female characters:

1 is a miner
The 2nd was so lippy to the Stone Knights she eventually managed to join their clan, purely on attitude and a little hard work.
3rd is a Praetorian.
4th just does work, work, work.
5th is a healer that's only relationship was with another girl
6th is a smithy

Newest is a secret, but she's very strong willed!

They're all Tomboy's! Every single one of em, I love playin em that way too!

If everyone's like that, no wonder my guys never get laid! The girls are just too tough for them!

I have half male, half female characters.

Of the females, at least three have had male characters "interested" in them, all without the females showing anything more than friendliness to their courters.

Of the males, only one has ever made romantic overtures towards a female, though another one is making some attempts. A third has a major crush, that will likely go unrequited. Only one of my males are free of communication difficulties (which says something about my opinion on men and communication, I suspect).

I think I RP the males pretty consistently-- the one who's suave is suave, and the one who's perpetually tongue-tied is perpetually tongue-tied. I'm a little baffled that the females get as much attention as they do. In only one case is the affection returned-- in the others, they have this strange reaction like "um, why is this guy following me?"

I have always had about 30% females, the rest males. Only about 30% of my chars are in relationships, too. Not the same 30%. Others would have been, but the person died or something.

As I get older I get more open to some things; right now I'm kind of interested in having one of my first girl chars in 20 years find someone. Guy or girl, doesn't matter. I want to find out if I'm capable of realistically playing a girl in love.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

I have 7 male and 2 female characters. One of the women is my only character in a relationship right now. I'm kind of wondering if I just play a more realistic girl, or if it's just tough luck for my guys. It's not like they're too career driven to find time for that certain someone. Or, maybe I play women to be too easy.

I have 14 girls and 1 guy. It used to be 50/50, but I noticed that females were lacking. I also had reduced my chars to just 7 at one point....that didn't last long. :D

I flipped a coinf ro all of my characters to be male or female. I had a large number of males at one point, but my past 5 flips have been heads so all my younger characters are female. I then use the U.S. census to randomly choose a name. I find that while most of my male characters seem to find positions of power quickly my female characters are more liked.

I (being male, not too obvious, or is it? Oh, and I'm straight) play a number of female characters. I was surprised to find that instead of being the 50/50 ratio I expected, I only had 3 female charries to my 6 male. Simplifys to 2/3 male. Considering this, I'm surprised that 2 of my 3 female characters are doing somewhat better than my male characters. They both somehow managed to get a job on a ship! Not the same one, though. They're on two different continents. Also, 2 of my chars have been approached (sort of, one is now in a relationship, but the other... nah, thats a breach of the 4 day rule) both of them female. This came as a great surprise, saying as I wasn't really expecting it, but now I find it interesting to find out exactly what will happen next. Also, being me, I have no experience in their situations, 1) Because I've never been in that situation before  and 2) I'm male. So I find it interesting how both situations will develop. In fact, my male characters are doing terrible, in comparison. One is even depressed, verging on suicide. I'm hoping somebody realises soon. He's one of my favourites.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the "heavy RP" I've heard mentioned, so long as you stay in character. If it's what your charries wan't, don't let your personality stand in the chars way. Keep 'em happy!

i have an equal number of charries of opposite sex.
and like most of you already said. I play them to the best of my ability. though I am a guy it can be hard to play s few of my girls. One though I made into a total tomboy but decided that she can a soften up a bit for others.

I can understand your views and feelings, but I find I don't have that problem. I find that once the characters personalities have developed to the right extent, I can play any situation they could be put in.

Halley wrote:I don't see any problem with it. Half of my characters are male, even though I'm a girl. If your character is in a relationship, it's not as if you, as the actual person at the computer, are carrying on a relationship with the other character's controller. I don't see why roleplaying the opposite sex would be a problem; the way I see it, it's no different than roleplaying a character who has different colored hair or is a different age.

I completly agree. If my one of my chars punched some other character, it wouldn't mean that I wanted to or had hit them in real life. Or if another kissed, say, one of your characters, that wouldn't mean I was completely in love with you. Anyway, as I said before, you shouldn't allow your feelings to affect your characters actions.

I have 15 male characters...

Wonder what that says about me. Of those just one is in a steady relationship... One was but then she died, and 4 are in kind of relationships...

Maybe I should spawn a female character next, if only to see if I can play a female character...

As I've probably said in other threads, for me roleplay is all about having a chance to be something different from your normal day-to-day you. Playing both sexes is just one facet of that opportunity. I generally play women, but that's largely because the group I do most of my roleplaying with is all male apart from me, and beyond that much of my roleplay is live, and then there's the obvious difficulty that everyone makes assumptions based on appearance.

In Cantr I'm currently playing three (very different) women and two (also quite different) men. All three of my female characters have been the subject of comments or circumstances that came about partly due to their sex, but neither of my male characters have (although one makes occasional mildly chauvanistic comments).

I play 8 males/7 females. :)

I think I play a better male than I do a female actually. What does that say?

I played a male character once... Didn't know what to do with him, so he ended up being a thief
