You all must realise too, that as new resources come about, they only can exist on new unexplored locations (Except in rare circumstances) - So, if more gemstones are added, they'll be hard to find at first. But it is a good idea, I've thought about it myself, because Gold, Diamonds, Silver and Copper... well... that's not a broad range of possibilities! But Gold, Diamonds, Silver, Copper, Jade, Emerald, Pearl (Actually, I think Pearls are already in game), Ruby, Topaz, Opal, Sapphire, etc etc - Would certinaly add PLEANTY of new jewelery, AND trade possibilities, since many civilizations traded in gemstones (Has anyone ever played the card game "Face Off"? That's what comes to mind thinking about this.)
I'll see what I can do.

Does Cantr have vulcanic action? In that case obsidian would be nice. Imagine a small vulcanic island with a stone like that, to my knowledge it splits into sharp splinters and is good for making weapons. They could have a stone-based culture. And also pumice stone which is formed of foaming minerals... it can be used for rubbing off dirt. It's very light, some even float.

Turquois should be one of those items added.
I think you should be able to make several different t ypes of bone jewlrey--- not just gold with different gems.
But say the bone ring, then you can also have the option to make a bone ring with turquois.
(Really i guess I don't see a point in this until someone finds these new islands.
Which I hope someone does soon and sets up a successful trade route of goods.

I greatly dislike the new stuff outside known lands policy, but it DOES give my characters some incentive to build a fleet and sail to points unknown.
How about adding a quality factor to jewery? A bone smothed down to fit on a wearers finger is kinda dull. Make an ornate bone ring and require an iron or steel tool like an awl or something and make it take hella long, and then have the result be "A thin bone ring with intricate carvings and traceries."
And to stay on topic, how about adding hydrogen so we can make rubber ballons and talk with sqeaky voices.

Bronze and other things...
I think Bronze would be a great addition to the game. It would give those without access to Iron something better than wood. I believe that copper and tin already exist so add something to burn, and a smelter and you got bronze. Bronze copies of iron/steel weapons shields and other objects pots, tools, ect would be usefull. The bronze weapons/armor would not be as good as Iron, but a significant step up from wood/bone.
Also, a battlements inprovement to buildings should exist which would allow missle fire from inside a building to outside and vice versa. The person inside should get some benefit from the cover of the building.
Lastly, I am not sure how pushing things under a door works, but if the only thing you can push under is a note, then a "drop slot' would be useful. Allowing those outside to drop materials/items into a building that is locked. If for example I owed somebody some resource and he were not home and his building locked, I could drop it off with a note explaining who I was and what I dropped.

Hydrogen burns clear and eye witness accounts indicate they saw flames. Forensic research revealed the reflective paint on the canvas skin was as flammible as rocket fuel and was the destruction of the heindenberg.
I think you're right about the voice thing being helium though. Besides, who doesn't want a highly explosive ballon?

Cockles and mussels alive alive oh!
Bronze has been suggested a million times -- ok why aren't they adding it yet? Now that there's item detoriation (if it really works) it should be time to start thinking about bronze and obsidian.
One thing not so big but... cockles and mussels!
And clams of all sort, basically. Ok I wouldn't eat them but Cantrians might. They are easy food for the coast side. At least in here you don't need to wade much to find loads of clams. I'm not sure if they are edible but if you're starving to death then I guess they would be better than nothing. And at least the thicker shells can be used for jewellery. -- And making buttons. Cantr needs buttons.
Someone said pearls are already implemented but I think instead of having a fixed harvest rate, they should be randomly found inside certain type of shells.
Also I think diamonds should be a by-product of mining for other things. You could not see if a location has diamonds but you could randomly find diamonds (and other jewellery), though in addition to that you would dig up loads of stone. Stone could be by-product in all the mining projects.

Probably a very, very bad idea to eat uncooked shellfish...especially in a world where you can't eat a freshly-killed cow (or whatever) without cooking it.
Gems can be mined specifically...they are often found in veins of their own, not mixed into other things. Well, mixed into stone, obviously, but...

Sheesh, you massacre FOUR locations and everyone hates you.
What gives?

Perhaps animals and humans should automatically produce faeces.

- - It could be used to make fertilizer to increase crops (it takes shorter to gather an amount of food)
- In some cultures it is used to make houses and/or pots.
- To much poo in a town could cause diseases among the residents.
- Outhouses and toilets could be implemented.
