Another reminder that
https://otherworld.fi is still online. I'm stubbornly refusing to pull the plug, even though it hasn't taken off the ground yet. Recently I have been working on the UI. I'm considering to eventually convert it into React, but currently it's not worth the effort because it's still missing the core loop. And I realize this isn't much of an advertisement because I'm focusing on what isn't working, but it's important that people have realistic expectations. I would be very happy to free-form rp with people but so far, the majority of people seem to forget that they registered and not come back after day 1. I don't think it's about the new player experience anymore, because I think the early game works, but it's very easy to reach the end of the tech tree. Being a low tech environment, Otherworld lacks long term goals. Although relatively recently, I added a progression of being able to level up a lean-to into a castle through 10 stages, as far as I can tell, no one has tried it in-game. Another thing that hasn't been done yet is building duckboards at the swamps. There's one thing that one could be the first at doing. Then it's possible to build snow castles at the cold zones during winter. It's currently summer in-game but the cycle of seasons goes around multiple times in a real life year.
