Is super excessive, give me one, as I have still ten hours of work ahead! Good luck with your interview, Rebma, we cross fingers for you.

Kudos for the new job, Alutka, being content at work is a main stone in the path to happiness. Gosh, how zen I sounded... must be the lack of sleep.

By the way, my son just loves 'Shake it song' (it's some weird baby song on youtube) and now he tries to speak English. It cracks me up.

Every week, I meet up with a whole bunch of people at the comic store I like to play D&D. Last night, some of the things that happened were these: I single-handedly started a riot among a group of cultists, by hugging one of them. This was after one of the party members made the cultists cry enough that they summoned an ice demon of sorrow. One of the party members ended up going evil, and made the flying castle (which we had just taken over, and were still inside) do a barrel roll.

It was probably the weirdest single D&D session I have ever participated in, and therefore the best. Unfortunately, Boyfriend is off on a trip right now, so he missed it.

Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.

Torrenting is bad, but to me, taking on Torrent websites is like cutting weeds in half instead of pulling them out. They'll not just grow back, but they'll multiply. It's so frustrating and so stupid. There's clearly a problem - solve it! Netflix is 50% of the way there to solving the problem. We need the damn movie studios rethink their business models. They can leverage all this free publicity. Movies have never been more popular thanks to torrenting.

Fundamentally they seem to not realise that if someone torrents a movie, they would NOT have otherwise bought that movie. It's not a lost customer. Just like if a very poor person steals a Ferrari - like come on, they were never going to buy that. (granted, torrenting is different because you're not stealing a physical product).

It may be that about audiovisual. But for books, the torrent was the major instrument for the dissemination of culture. Works that never were or would be translated and released in Brazil, for example, could be obtained in the original language. People without the financial means to acquire knowledge could freely have access to important, expensive and rare works.

I was used to spend long time in the libraries during my childhood and smelling old books was one of my greatest joys. Some of my friends say book worms altered my mind.

I have electronic books and some 'books on tape" (which are actually digital now).

But I agree that nothing replaces the feel and smell of a book in the hand... probably because that is what I grew up with.
Plus bookcases make great home decorations... we are into antiques and the smell of shuffled paper and cedar takes the mind on many journeys.

Someday people will probably miss the 'good old days' when you could hold a nice kindle or nook in your hand.

I think I've been watching too much anime recently... it's affecting how I roleplay at least one of my characters.

On a less amusing note, I've been getting inexplicable dizzy spells again, sometimes to the point of getting nauseous. It makes it hard to work - doesn't actually stop me from doing my job, but I keep tripping on nothing more than usual, and feeling vaguely miserable. Hopefully I can get a doctor's appointment tomorrow and see if there's anything more we can figure out about this.

And on the subject of books, I used to think nothing would ever replace my paper books. That was before I ended up taking a month-long trip with my family, to a foreign country, the language of which none of my family members speak, in the middle of nowhere in said country. And I'm the kind of person who will get through a book every day or two. akldsjfa; so frustrating. The only bright side to the limited book selection I'd been able to bring was that I discovered a fantasy series that I ended up liking, when we took a side trip to a different country. I still like my paper books, but my Kindle is far more convenient and much easier to organize. With it, I'm effectively carrying around 250+ books in my purse every day, and still getting more. Almost as importantly, if I fall asleep reading my Kindle, I won't lose my page.

I think I've been a pretty conservative pokemon go player, only playing at people's houses inside or my yard or work on break inside. But today I had my first odd moment. I was showing the app to my mom's boyfriend and all of a sudden realized there was a Staryu nearby. So.. I might have dove off my chair yelled something like "gotta catch it" and ran outside. I got my mom's neighbour's dogs all barking standing on the sidewalk at 945 pm but I caught it!

Lol I'm glad it was a nice neighbour.

I do like the fact that I could carry around 250 books on my nook at a time.
But why?

If I buy a book I intend to read it... I probably carry less than 20 around with me,
but I intend to read them...eventually.
Thats the other thing I like is book cases all over my house, so when guests come by they might mistake me for an intellectual.

Its fooled nearly everyone but my wife and daughter... they know that I am the stereotypical sitcom dad.
Hey, Al Bundy was a hero... "Psycho-dad!"

I just spent a long day on the road and I am whooped. Just leave me here, go on and save yourselves.
