I've always wanted to put all of my characters together and see what happens. Not IG of course because that would be cheating, but I've toyed with the idea for NaNoWriMo.

Unfortunately there's too much of me in my characters. An army of me's isn't terribly interesting lol. So I'd be forced to augment and play with their differences. To name some examples from my dead characters, 13's suicidal depression meets 16's sexual ambition meets Narrator.

When people who want things to get better, continue to be all woe is me, and it's so quiet and sad and blah blah about a town. It's like, look- if one person can try and be happy, so can you. DO something other than whine! It's hard to do things alone, but they expect it? Annoying when half a town gives up.

I like to try and cut out the sadness/drama if I can.

When it goes on for too long, yeah definitely. And for no reason. Ugh.

Excessive mopeyness has always bugged me, but then that goes for a lot of over the top grief/misery/sadness RP. The thing I've had to wrap my mind around though is for a lot of players, that is the exemplification of 'good RP'. Like an actor getting to take on a really dramatic role, it's something they look forward to and milk for all its worth. When your own interests or RP style don't go in that direction, it can grate on the nerves after awhile.

When a player is starving one of their characters, and instead of respecting their decision to quietly stop playing that one in particular there's always that one person around that has to create a huge scene and tons of blubbering and drama.

More than once now I've even seen people go as far as having a char that supposedly cares about them start talking about savagely stabbing and slicing at them till they're on the verge of death in order to forcefully cram food down their throat. Besides being ridiculously OOC and disrespectful to the player as well, I have to wonder if it seriously doesn't occur to these people that the player who's already made up their mind will just click the 'die' button and then the character that delivered the fatal injury will have to be considered IG as being responsible for their murder?

All of that and just the general attitude of resentment, entitlement and selfishness. If the character's player simply doesn't want or have time to keep them around anymore, then that's that. Get over it. All the weeping and wailing beating your chest and making a scene does nothing but ensure their last days are annoying ones with an unpleasant final impression of not only your char but you, specifically.

And what about those guys who sleep 60 years and wake up but would have died without food? Seen one :P And even more people who have slept 10 years but woken.. But yeah killing to get food sounds kinda overkill but I have seen that too.. Though none of them has woken or died on that... Instead died on heart attack year or so later. Kinda makes whole effort to go down in vain :/

Just a question.. How you know player is on purposely killing that char off? It's hard to determine really.. Some woke after sleep and continue to play and some don't so where's the line? Specially on starving some people leave really little room for food so I rather personally feed all than do mistake again and let someone die who was coming back..

Being recently awake or handing off keys and picking up 15 kilos of bones is usually a good indicator.

Why not just walk down a road and set yourself to 1% speed....

Then about 20 days later there is the "Hey, where did that body come from?" type of rp.

Be well fed.

Not sure why, but the "skill rp" drives me nuts. When the character switches between projects and says "ah, I am very skilled at this, and am okay with this, etc etc". I think it just annoys me because they're basically the character's stats, and they shouldn't be measured so objectively in game. Or something. I dunno, just make it more interesting!

I would say that their RP skill is much weaker than average.
